You're right. I'd say that 70% of my 13,000 posters are post 1970, I pretty much own the 80s and everything afterward. Bruce emailed me a few days ago to tell me that, money wise, my collection was spot on. Meaning that a lot of my posters sell way way way above what I paid for them. Like I said before, I'm not in that business so it means very little to me. Eventually a lot of the 80s gear will be forgotten, the 90s will take over, and so on. Of course, the classics will always sell, be it from the 40s, 60s or 80s, the Raiders or Back to the Future will always sell, but trends will change and the smaller stuff will disappear.
