While the video quality and white balance are far from the best, Red Headed Woman is right behind the podium, and the reds look a bit more subdued (i'm meaning the vibrancy of the red inks) in comparison to the the catalog image.
But i agree, Brandon, it's such a beautiful poster, and would look amazing up on the wall and part of anyone's collection!!
Right, there was a stark contrast in how it looked on the video and the photo, but as you said, the video was pretty rough quality.
Agreed, it is a stunning example from Hollywood's Golden Age.
The colors on this piece look incredible, and the reflectivity of the inks make it very difficult to photograph correctly.
The speckled background also makes it very easy to tell where restoration has been performed when looking closely (though the busyness of the pattern helps hide it upon first glance). This poster has had very, very little work performed and is a gorgeous piece.
Yeah, photography can be difficult, and of course it's always best to see something first-hand.
