I wonder why the printers wrote first edition 1961 on it for?!

Maybe referring to the year the movie was first released in Italy?

The logo seems to be the solid clue here, tho, too, dont you think? You can't have a poster from 1961 with a logo that didn't even exist until 14 yrs later.

If so, that would be spooky!   faint2.gif

1975-1982

Here's the '61 first release, with the original UA logo:  ;)

It just means that's when the movie came out , not nessesarily when the poster was printed.

This was the logo in 1967-68:

And then this, from 1969 to sometime in 1975 when it was redesigned again (in that same year), to the one on Steve's poster, as seen above:

Thanks all for clarifying.  thumbsup.gif  Still chuffed with the purchase. You've really got to be on the ball such as studying the logos though to know what you are getting. A low current bid doesn't necessarily indicate you should be thoroughly checking logos, but I guess if you want to put down a lot of dough worth checking it in detail.

dont worry, its still the same poster you were happy with, so be just as happy, its beautiful. And so you probably paid less because of a logo.
great buy.

Not a print, but a friend brought these back from the USA for me, probably easy to get hold of, but not if you live in the UK!

Happy to have helped, too, Steve.  It's what makes the hobby so much fun, as well.

It's such a great image. The sheer portrait size of Brynner (and the amazing, artistic rendition of him) makes it a keeper!

Some great pickups from everyone as usual, congrats to all.

These as a big fan of the movies have me curious though. Anyone know why one says section E at the top and the other section F even though they are both the same page?

What???  More Bardot?  Ce n'est pas possible!!!!  This little piece from 1956 is linenbacked ( devil 2) and is not so little since it measures 94x126 inches.  The darkness on the poster is due to a bad Photoshop assembly.  It is mint.

One down, so many more to go.

Fantastic Satan Claus poster.  How can you go wrong with Golden Globes winner Pia Zadora (before she took to tearing down celebrated silent film star mansions because the ghosts were driving her kids nuts, anyway)?

She should have been shackled and dragged away before she could inflict her demolition and destruction.. what a total idiota!  moron1

Game of Thrones IMAX Bus Shelter

sweet pickups all...

sorry steve it wasnt what you thought it was :(

The BTTF newspaper inserts are great.  The differing sections were probably unimportant to the design process

Bardot is a beauty and who knew the Martians did laundry and they too have a toy workshop!

Sorry getting boring with the BTTF stuff.
Got this yesterday, signed by the cast (not Mr Glover strangely enough).
