4F great condition, 1st release 1961, only 10 Euro. Shown with stuff around it for scale. A nice quality poster for an Italian poster... thick paper, nice printing.

Reading some facts about Yul Brynner...

He was mentioned in the song "One Night In Bangkok" by Murray Head
Audrey Hepburn is the godmother of his daughter Victoria

Thank you very much Rosa for your nomination which resulted in me winning this award. Ever since I was a little poster collector I dreamt of one day winning the Matryoshka Poster Doll award. I couldn't have done this without the love of my family crying and most importantly, my peers... you poster collectors crying crying   Thank you all, I will always be in your debt crying crying crying

good film

I LOVE this movie, Indiana Jones ripoff in 3D. I saw it on the big screen (in 3D) in Sydney, in the early 90's.
Half the crown walked out (4 people)
I CHEERED. really good fun.

I have a suspicion about this movie and its aussie release.
I never see the daybills USED.
I do have a press sheet for it, in a 16MM release (!)
Im not convinced it played at proper theatres.

one of my favourite aussie films

brings back memories of being a teen

loved this film as a kid

I always liked the shish kabob skewering imagery on Happy Birthday to Me.

Looks painful ( and yet, not too spicy).  mesmrized

Just a quickie... Let me catch up on what i've missed.

Zowie Gingerman!  A first release TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE? Awesomeness!  I'd love one, but have just contented myself with a New Line re-release. Great find for you!!!

Mahmudf--those 2001 giant stills are just amazing (and probably worth some amazing big bucks, perhaps!). Those would be incredible framed and in a single room or hallway. Awesome find for you as well.

Ted---Oooo look at you Mr. Photoshop guru. I am super impressed. That work is brilliant.

Posteroid--LOVE those Japanese B2s, especially NOT TONIGHT HENRY and EUROPE BY NIGHT! Groovy!

Jedgerley--Boondock Saints--never seen it. Any good? Ah...you have a poster dungeon, like Ari has his Shed of the Damned.  I just have a Shack-A-Rama with no room for anything. Waaagh.

Steve--the Magnificent Seven is clearly a big winner!  Bravo!!!

Ari--Quite the haul! LOVED the movie TOURIST TRAP and have the US one sheet. I also dug TREASURE OF THE FOUR CROWNS and saw it twice in the theaters (both times I only counted 3 crowns--where the hell was the 4th?) . Great old school in-your-face 3D on that one.  I've seen that WOMAN FROM DEEP RIVER daybill other places. But is that really CANNIBAL FEROX (aka MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY)? Some of the poster art is the same. THIEF OF BAGHDAD looks fun (never saw it) and I used to hang my HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME one sheet up just inside my front door ever April (guess what happens in April? UGH!). I agree with Jeff--love the shish-kebab in the face graphics! Groovy haul!

THE BOOGIE MAN WILL GET YOU:

I hate linen backing, but might consider it for this.

Thanks for the help.  CHEERS!

Any more thought about what you might do with this poster, restoration-wise, MAGG?

Sting was also in the terrific film adaption of the (somewhat superior) British teleplay BRIMSTONE AND TREACLE (see both versions).

Not yet. I'll look into it after the holidays.  I'm curious about the gel backing though. From what little I read that seems to be the way to go (for me). I'll let you know when the time comes.

Cheers!

Thanks for noticing man.  Boondock was one I thought I would have to wait many more years for one to show itself.  Its ok and worth a look. and then follow it up with "Overnight: The Rise and Fall of Troy Duffy"  a documentary detailing how Troy who wrote the movie was taken under Harvey Weinstein's wing and how his amazingly large ego fucked it all up.

I think this poster would be a perfect candidate for the gel back process, too. Will be curious what the restorers you touch base with have to say, in that regard, too.
