Woah, you and Harry Caul are on the same team now. Congrats!

What is the story behind this one?

Splendid.

I am missing the quads from the first three films but if I would have to choose just one, this would be it.

And this looks to be a fine example.  Cheers.

In a perfect world, you will get those three posters eventually. I can't imagine anyone with a greater love or dedication, or anyone more deserving of owning them!

 :)  Thanks fella.

However, it might be five, inc the Irish Gf and a FRWL Premiere quad.  Together with a Thunderball teaser making six.

I am seeing a row of 0000s with a £ sign at the front.  Really not sure when, or if, it will happen.

You're right, Adam, unless he alreay has them.  :P

I saw in the Metro this morning that a Bond collector is auctioning his £100,000 collection this Friday. Not sure if this has alreay been discussed, but there are no more details in the article.

It's a lot of junk.  Dolls, odd cars.  That said, I know nothing of the Corgi side of things.

It is more merchandising than marketing.  A tin of tuna, 'cos it is advertising Die Another Day.  There's a tie-in for you.

There are a couple of posters but it is Moore and later.  It is perhaps misleading when the article (articles - it is in all sorts of UK press) mentions the chap's age and the duration of collecting.  One would have perhaps expected all sorts of unique items - not so, for this particular audience.

Lol thanks... I think Simes and myself are nutters when it comes to Bond posters!
I wish I had the FRWL premiere quad; I did bid on the last one back in the Winters auction a while back, but my mate beat me to it then sold it at Profiles last year for a nice profit.

The guy who is selling the collection sold most of it at Christie's in '98.
He literally picked up anything and everything to do with Bond!
What he is selling tomorrow is the rest of it.

If anyone is going to the auction tomorrow, let me know as I will be there seeing a few friends as it is close to me, even closer to Paul, so Paul are you up to much tomorrow!? And Simes, are you popping up or just bidding over the phone or net?? I have a very strong idea what you have your eye on ;-)
Best wishes,
Adam

Teesside Industrial Estate, a bugger to find at first, but it's at the back.
Shame you can't get there!

The Star Wars transparency sold for £5k today.

Horror Art exhibition - sounds good.
Try to take some pics!

Adam,

What is this exactly? It sounds interesting.

Is there a link to that item, by chance?

Yeah, have a look in the Star Wars section on here.

They hold most of their auctions at the Teesside base.
Think it's Rugby where they hold other auctions.

I know you won't have missed anything mate.
One of my mates has two race tracks in tomorrow - he's expecting £900-1200 for one of them!
Best wishes,
Adam

A recent purchase here that people may find unusual or a curiosity.

Having been interested in the marketing of the Bond films for three decades, it is an unlikelihood that something would be unearthed that would be a completely new surprise.  This lobby card purchased from ebay that broke that convention; a card from the film, From Russia with Love in poor condition that used the UK artwork to the left, on a yellow background and where the main still of FOH size was in b/w.  Devoid of NSS and card numbering, strange implementations of the 007 logo of the time, an A rating and only one of the four girls from the UK art in evidence, its only clue as to its origins, as suggested by Graham Rye (007 Magazine and Archive owner), was in the painting over and partial covering up of the girl in ways reminiscent of the Irish alterations to the Russia quad poster.

A specially commissioned lobby card set for the Irish market?  At present, it is unknown how many cards comprised this set; the accepted eight cards or similar to the UK sets of four for both Goldfinger and Thunderball?  It is also unknown what other images were used for the remaining cards.

Any clues or advice fellas?

An image of a further card from this set has been made available to me.  That said, it is a digital copy of something from when it was sold on ebay which was then printed.  It is of the Spectre training ground as alluded to by other members here.

The original concept art (with titles and credits transferred from the final) for NSNA by Rudy Obrero, much better than the very mediocre final.  The lawyers (damn them!) ordered the removal of the action elements. Read the story here:
