I love it Jeff. I actually think I have a copy as well. We have great taste. Happy early Thanksgiving by the way.

I recall you posting your copy not too long ago, Shawn. (Mine was only en route, so it was great to see another copy owned by a fellow APF member  thumbsup.gif ).

'Tis a really cool looking poster.

And Happy Turkey Day to you, too. Have a good one.  :D

A Thai poster for Dead & Buried (1981)

Hah! Just last night while going through Chris Gingerman's website I took note of the same poster and added it to my want list. I sold off my one sheets for this film because I thought they were kinda bland, I do love that Thai version, though.  Well done, Jeff!
 cheers

Happy Thanksgiving -- almost. I've taken the liberty of putting together a bonus Thanksgiving post for my thread that I'll post as some time after the APF clock strikes midnight. Here's a small sample of what you'll find. You also find my (oh my STARS!) three (THREE? Oh MAN! Am i in trouble now) wins from the recent Heritage Auction. Oops. Look or don't --they'll be posted sometime after APF midnight when it's Thanksgiving in APF Land. Enjoy...and pass me a piece of pie.

Nice trio of lovery ladies there, Shawn. And with Raquel leading the way! Looks like the Fathom folks decided to keep in theme with her One Million Years BC outfit. And it's certainly fitting, in more ways than one. ;)

Thank, Ted. I've never seen Dead & Buried but the face thru the ground imagery on the posters always caught my eye, and Ive now added it to my watch list. It might be horrible for all I know, but I'll be giving it a look-see. Ive watched the trailer on youtube only.

Jeff, you picked up on my little (and really, rather lame) Thanksgiving joke....NOT a horror film in my sample any where to be seen, but rather 2 exploitation films and a Raquel Welch title with lots of scantily clad women. On Thanksgiving, do you prefer legs, thighs, or breasts? Dark or white meat? (Okay...i was thinking of Steve when this tacky little joke popped into my head as I knew he'd zoom in on these titles...and Steve doesn't even celebrate Thanksgiving where he is. Ha!)  And you are right about the studio trying to recall the ONE MILLION BC imagery with Raquel in the FATHOM poster I think. I made note of that in my post for tonight. Very astute of you. Bravo.

rJEFF I forgot to mention, Fresno used to be a place they would occasionally test market movies. DEAD OR ALIVE was one of those titles. I've never seen it either, but it played here (before opening everywhere else) under the test title of LOOK ALIVE. Clearly that was NOT a winning title.

It was interesting to watch this mini commentary by Guillermo del Toro about Dead & Buried and its influence on his own film making:

Another addition to my Gene collection. The window card for Tobacco Road. Picked it up off the bay and probably paid a bit too much for it, although Heritage have never sold one and Bruce sold a poor conditioned one a while back. This one looks to  be in pretty good condition.

MARC: I concur...NICE Window Card. That really is something special.

PAUL: Thank you for your kind words, especially since you have one of the most amazing collections on here. I'm in awe constantly when you post.

STEVE: I addressed you on my thread. But glad you liked the three posters. Ha!

Had this arrive today. It's an Argentinean OS for the Austrian film called Noch Minderjährig (1957). It was released in English speaking countries with the title, Under 18. I've not seen the movie but what caught my eye was the intense color and beautiful stone litho-created artwork.

On the back is a small stamp which reads "Dwight Cleveland Poster Archive" so it's kind of cool to have a poster that was once in his incredible collection.

I seem to go through spells of not finding any Gene T paper and then suddenly bam! They all appear in various places at once.

So I haven't got many UK half sheets of Gene's films so having a quick look on the bay tonight picked this up.

Greg Edwards has been hawking his round for years with the cut corner. Another one showed up also with a cut corner but at three times a lower price so I nabbed it.  I thought it was probably close to my last chance of owning a copy of this half sheet and at a great price.

Now onto this one.... I stupidly sold my copy of this a few years back and then completely forgot about it when it was subsequently auctioned at Emovie not too long ago.

Again I got it at such a low price that I had to have it but as you can see there is some pretty bad staining on the actual poster. A wise man on here once told me that if you see something that you want and it's something that is quite rare then get it as you never know how long you have to wait for a better copy to show up.

It's probably alongside Laura as my favourite Gene film. She is a badass in this movie!

It may be one I send away to get it cleaned up.

Beautiful, Marc. clap

You refer to the Thunder Birds piece as a "UK half sheet." Is this a different size from a US HS?

Both the US and UK half sheets are the same Jeff, 22"x28". Some collectors I know feel that the US half sheets have a better image than its UK counterpart.

Here's the US half sheet for Leave Her to Heaven compared to the UK one.

credit to Emovie for this pic as mine is stashed away.

And again the UK half sheet

Gene looks pretty dreamy in the US half sheet  bed1

Both have nice images, Marc, and its great to see that the same image wasnt used for both (as so often happens today, it seems). And I agree, GT does look rather dreamy on the US version. 'Tis a perfect word to describer her there.  sm1
