Author Topic: Yet Another Forum? (Read 197910 times)

This forum is basically a chat thread between the top 10-15 contributors, almost of all of whom were here from the beginning. Why no one else ever showed up is a mystery. I think it's the awkward name choice. Maybe not. But the reality is that if five of the top 10-15 contributors leave permanently, this forum will sink like all the others have. Conversely - like I told Charlie - a new forum cannot succeed without at least 10 "super poster nerds" on board, which is why I don't think the Vintage Vanilla Rebels can succeed. We'd all be better off if the top 30 contributors from all the boards got together on one board, as is the case in the print world.

I don't see it,Mel.This place is more than just a dozen people now.If they left,another dozen would eventually take their place.Plus,this place has something MPF never had.Owners that collect vigorously and chat about it.

Lot of talk about forums and now it's even descended into how they are named when to me one key thing point has been overlooked - there are more collectors of movie posters in the world than there are members of all the movie posters forums put together - so it seems obvious collectors don't need forums or probably care about them, so on that basis who the hell cares how many there are and what they are called.

Sure - vintage refers to anything that is not on the printing press.
