Heritage's 'Intelligent Collector'
« on: January 17, 2013, 03:28:37 PM »
Just got my digital copy for the Winter 2012-2013 release, other than the title of the magazine is a contradiction of terms (in my world anyway), it's a very good read. They should be congratulated for spending the money producing such a professional magazine.

If you haven't got your copy you can download mine from here: http://goo.gl/zdXOk

FYI - Permission is granted by Heritage to 'Share the magazine with fellow collectors'

I just don't "get" the other featured hobbies - baseball cards, comic books, coins, etc.  "Mutual 'meh'"....

You see, there are the "haves," the "have mores," and the "have ridiculously mores." This month's edition showcases Jim and Diane Cook's various impressive collections, including a few movie posters, at their home in Minneapolis.  Jim Cook, a metals trader, says the collections are worth over $20 million.  They spent $400,000 on "custom shelving" alone.

Also a short article on page 18 about Keith Johnson, who bought the Frankenstein insert for $5 at "an Illinois antiques shop" in the late 1960s.  He hung it for a few years then stored it for 30 years.  It sold for $262K this year.

It's great to know his wife's hand was in the movies:
