Thanks all...appreciate the positive feedback. I love seeing pics like these, so happy to finally post some of my own here.

Harry C. - haha, no worries...I cannot believe that pic of Sean's sixer was buried in the SD thread...ugh, spent forever going through ever other resto thread here.
At this point, I am leaning toward getting the split overlays to get it going on the wall, and when I find something singular that I like, I will upgrade.

Are you going to get snap frames?  That is probably your cheapest option.  If you want something more formal let me know and I'll send you to the guy I got mine from.  They cut to size and mail unassembled.  You have to wood glue it when it arrives, but there are little plugs for the corners which make everything match perfectly.  Regardless, they'll look amazing on the wall!

The colors on that Cat poster are amazing.  Congrats again!

Yeah, we are going to order a flip frame from Robert very soon. We have this good size wall in the middle of the living room for it, and we want the option of switching stuff out.

I am just debating having it be a tad longer than an Italian 2p so I can also use it for some 3 sheets when we like, even though there would be space on either side of the poster of course (roughly 7 inches give or take on either side). Would love to have our Psycho 3sh up during October. Also, plan on getting the white frame and since our walls are all shades of white, the poster not being true to frame size won't be so glaring in relation to the 3sh.

Glad you and Rosa like it, really appreciate the kind words...best part of a poster forum is seeing others appreciate stuff like this. A couple neighbors were over when I happened to have these on the floor and the one was shocked in a good way, the other one was so confused why I would pay 'more than a few bucks for stuff like that' yet alone display in our house. Yikes!

One of my favorite WWI posters. In rough shape prior to cleaning and backing, had around two feet of tape on the back alone holding it together. Decided I love the character that the toning and missing paper along the edges bring to it and since the pieces do not extend into the artwork for the most part will be leaving as is. Backed but not restored. Sorry for the bad shots. Cameras on the fritz so had to use the cell phone.

Really love that you left the border alone Mike.  The art still shines, and the border doesn't detract from that at all!
Congrats again  bed1

Love that Howard Chandler Christy.  Makes me want to back mine euro-style as well.
Great investment too!  Not that you will ever sell it.  ;)  Did you get it from a local auction?

Mike's work is the best example of how to do an Euro-style IMO. But sadly, I don't think you get this quality here.  I agree with Brian that leaving the borders as they are was the best choice. He  respected the integrity of the poster while enabling her to glow and breath.

It really is a perfect restoration for a perfect poster. OK I shooooo now  :-X  :)

The third or fourth poster I ever bought earlier this year was this one sheet. I had wanted a Saul Bass designed poster for a very long time. Today I just picked it up and was amazed at how great the end product looks. To say that I am stunned is an understatement. Since I'm a  a newbie, this is my very first linen backed poster. The work was done by Studio C:

It really does, this is a case where I can see linen backing really making an improvement, even though it really didn't need it. But the art just looks better without folds (I cannot believe I said that)
