Holiday, I am sure you likely know this, but these days I NEVER back anything. I believe in letting the buyers choose who they want to do the restoration, how much restoration they want, etc.

The ones I auction backed were backed by the consignor, or someone further back, but not by me.

As to why someone backs an inexpensive one-sheet, it is so it looks its best on the wall. They are not thinking "investment" and these almost always sell for less than the cost of linenbacking alone.

I wonder how the PF Lucky Strike will fare?  Emovie has never sold one before.  My bet is $1,200.  I think an unbacked version would go for $1500.

It's not in the Emovie Archives. The last major public auction in the US was four years ago for $1,553. (It's sold for absurd prices in UK and some of them were fakes.) It's publicly advertised for $2200 retail right now.  It's gone for $500-$750 on Ebay in the last year.

Yeah, we always remember our victories and conveniently forget our losses.

But returning to the run-away topic at hand, when did a PF sell for $1,200 on Ebay?  Was that a Best Offer?  Don't recall seeing that auction.  (And I haven't forgotten the one you auctioned recently, but it was sun-damaged, so is not typical.)

  Whatever, Rich.  You totally remember.  The argument was whether Mr. Cactus Canyon was a character in Tarantino's film True Romance. And the second argument was whether pornfarm.com would process debit cards for access to the HD download section.  You lost both of those arguments to Mel.

UMM.. no, it must have been someone else seeing as I don't ever recall a question about Cactus Canyon and I don't even know what a Mr Cactus Canyon is and I have never seen True Romance, so I couldn't possibly have been able to answer such a question

it sold BIN in about an hour after listing

and btw, the one I sold wound up not selling as Rattler didn't realize it was faded, so I allowed him to back off his bid. The underbidder, whom I offered the poster for Rattler's initial bid (ended at $236, but Rattler's initial bid was $168) but he didn't respond, so it's going to be resold in the next rolled auction

well, the issue was that a couple of his buyers thought it was a fake, but clearly it wasn't
he actually sold it 4 times and I had bugged him through something like 8 re-listings to put up a better photo seeing as all he had put up was a tiny  who knows what it is, or a stock photo. If he had done a good pic the first time, he would have sold it for 350-400. An inexperienced seller. It doesn't look that bad and someone who can't afford $1500 for a NM one would be happy with it I think

Dr. Caul and I both reached the same conclusion that although it is authentic, the sun fading was too extensive to command the price, but who knows what others think regarding what it's worth.  If the same seller sold it 2 other times, then wow, that IS an impressive track record.    Geez Louise.  You're probably right, though, that to someone it is worth somewhere in your predicted range considering the "regular" price of one in very good+ condition, and they're probably not going to be lowering in price any time soon (IMHO).
