Great flick, but I imagine Mel's popularity may have eroded somewhat lately... What with all the egotistical-abusive-rascist-crazy and everything.

What about these Lion King posters!?
Both described as 'NEVER SEEN' ...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lion-King-NEVER-SEEN-27x40-TEASER-Disney-Movie-Poster-/300537937792?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f974ff80#ht_500wt_1156

I SOLD THE ABOVE FOR £40.00 2 years ago !!!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lion-King-NEVER-SEEN-27x40-TEASER-Disney-Movie-Poster-/300537937792?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f974ff80#ht_500wt_1156

I also have the above poster - it is the only Lion King poster I plan to keep.

Are they really worth THAT much?
Best wishes,
Adam

I went to 110 on both Lion Kings and I thought that was high.

I bought the one that went for more. I guess I massively overpaid!

I will put it as the first item in one of my sales, and we will see how it does.

If it turns out I incinerated a bunch of moolah, then at least I can know it went to a really good cause (I am a major fan of Dan's).   happy1

'Cause' his wife told him to sell some damn posters.

The bigger point at this juncture in the thread is how Dan the Man is shedding some of the weight more frequently with last night offerings including some crazy material that most of us will probably not see for several years again, if ever.

One has to wonder what he is holding back, if this round was just tossing out a few bones to appease the wife (no pun intended, but let's see who runs with it...hmmm....).

I dont know the guy but almost everything I have read about him, and I have read MANY hours of stuff, is positive with the exceptions all seemingly coming from some shady dealer types.

It really does seem to bother them that the guy picks out fakes or corrects their mis represented listings for them.

Dan is a great guy to deal with.

I got my rolled Friday The 13th One Sheet from him, amongst other things, and had the opportunity to buy a load of his gear a while back through private conversation, but I ultimately declined as I was concentrating on other stuff at the time.

Some of the gear he sells is fantastic.

I had his whole website logged etc but lost it all when my computer died, so I hope Thierry one day releases his copy so everyone can see what he did. I actually remember Dan's site and MPF as being the first two standalone poster websites I came across when starting to collect posters seriously a few years ago. He did good.
Best wishes,
Adam

Congrats to Sean for what looks to have been a very successful auction.
This FORBIDDEN PLANET three sheet is gonna look great on somebody's wall.

Thanks for the nice words guys, it is much appreciated.
The Dracula's Daughter (which I think was a steal of a price), was purchased by a well-known Canadian collector.  I believe he posts on MoPo, but don't think I've seen him here.
A few things were surprising on either side of high or low (as with most every auction), but overall I was pleased.

Even more pleased that the auction led to some private inquires and I was able to place cards from Black Cat, The Raven, Dracula, and the Wolf Man into good homes this week.

Now I just need to get back to work and find some cool stuff for the wall at Cinevent.

And how does one find an unrestored Forbidden Planet 3sh these days?  :)

DAMN YOU AGAIN "MISTERBIS2008" AND YOUR OBSCENE NEED TO BUY EVERY DAYBILL THAT BRUCE AUCTIONS!!!

Seriously out of control with the prices you are paying indiscriminantly on your 50+ purchases.

If you are a dealer you're not going to make your $$$ back.  Possibly an overly obsessive (and neurotic!) collector?

That's my rant for today...and thanks to this tool my  bed1 is going to be cold and devoid of daybills...

It's a deal on the Bogies - you just leave the Aussie paper to me...

And it looks like you got a great deal on the In a Lonely Place - it sold for twice that in 2005 Heritage: http://movieposters.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=624&Lot_No=28674

I wonder if it's the same poster as this is the only sales record I could find?

In my opinion, I would pay the extra to have it shipped (carefully!) in the frame given the size - it will surely be a pain in the ass to try and reframe it!

I was a bit worried when I saw Bruce list a French In a Lonely Place last night... I was crossing my fingers that I didn't over pay.  Looks like I'm in the clear, even with my 17% BP!

Yup, mine is backed too.  I'm curious to see where this one ends up...  pcorn pcorn pcorn

The funny thing is, if I had known Bruce was offering this copy I may not have bid high enough to win the other auction.  The poster I have was bought from Posteritati a few years ago.  I think the auctioneer let Posteritati know about the auction when they were confirming the past sale/receipt and they almost outbid me!!!
