I was looking at that Titanic poster wondering what it would finish at. So, it is not a theatrical poster?

I'd say that's a material listing error.  I certainly wouldn't have paid that much for a soundtrack poster.

I am not sure that it is a soundtrack poster.

Of course it it proves to be a soundtrack poster or a re-release poster, we will cancel it and re-list it properly identified.

I believe it would have gone for more had the seller offered worldwide shipping.
I guess this is karma for the good deals I get.

Titanic international went for $165 today.  Anybody ever seen this before?  Maybe it's an international re-release poster since it shows the ending.

UPDATE: This is the international soundtrack poster, according to Eat French Cheese's site ;D

I actually do not know for sure what this poster is.  The "Soundtrack" name comes from Dan Rickard, who had done an authentication of the Titanic posters way back then.  That's what he called it.  But I don't know for sure how he got the info.  Since I couldn't find anything on it, that's what I called it.  What I know, however, is that the poster was released at the time of the movie, that it is authentic (since I got mine straight from Paramount at the time), that its design is unique and that it has become quite rare.  Whatever it is, I think the price it reached is right.

It doesn't seem like a soundtrack poster because it says in small print at the bottom "Soundtrack Available from Sony" and "Read The Book" etc.  Very similar to the known international (top):

I'm pretty sure my copy of this Titanic poster came from Dan - I know it as the International "I promise" style and I believe it was not used because of the spoiler image. It is definitely from an early print run because Gloria Stuart's name is missing from the credits (this was added in later print runs for other styles but not this one). It is the rarest Titantic poster and I think the winner of Bruce's auction will be happy with the price he paid.

That's interesting, Mark.  So it could be from a scrapped campaign.  I never noticed it was missing Stuart's name.  I remember Dan's auction on this poster, and he was selling it as a soundtrack poster.  Where did you get the international "I Promise" name?

From an earlier auction description on ebay. I preferred to adopt that style description as I could never understand why it was a soundtrack poster.

Couldn't find a thread on Mondo or Olly Moss posters/prints, and honestly I did search ;D

Thought there'd be a bit more buzz about the posters released today? I really like the Rocky, On the Waterfront and Jackie Brown but only got the JB. Love Olly's posters, did anyone else get any?

Or if there's a thread on this just direct me quick smart with a wrap around the ear :-\

Wow, good for Bruce.

I had about 20 lobby card sets I wanted to bid on, but when I saw the amount of money they were selling for, I passed on all but 2.  I don't know if I'm cheap (which I am) or if lobby cards suddenly gained in value, but I couldn't force myself to spend that much money on them.

What is the deal with the lobby sets for films like Gladiator, Toy Story and Casino?  I didn't even think the US still produced lobby cards?  Who displays these anymore?  I can't recall a theater in my lifetime displaying lobby cards....

They're for international distribution, but I don't know which country uses them.  Are they used in the UK?

Harry and Thierry. NO ONE has these cards from better movies of the past 10 years. The big question is where they are actually used, and why they still make them.

Every so often someone sends me some of these and they go for more and more.

If anyone knows anything about them, post it here. But if anyone has any they would be willing to let go of, just send them to me to auction for you!

Bruce, are the prices reached in line with past auctions, or are they going up.  I was quite amazed at the amount of money people were ready to spit out.

They are higher, but not massively higher. Unless a bunch of these show up, the prices may continue to rise.

Try to find a Toy Story one-sheet. No problem, and there would be no problem finding 100 of them.

But try and find that lobby set at any price!

Seller is in Germany but claims this is an American set of 8...

I don't know about U.S. Lobby's, but there are cinema's in the U.K. that still display Front of House stills.

The last set I saw come through US theaters was for Fantasia's 1990 re-release.  I know that Suncoast Video sold sets for films like Bram Stokers Dracula and Nightmare Before Christmas that I assumed to be commercial releases.  I assumed later sets were for international distribution, as Mr. Brie said.
