Wow, they are gorgeous, Deke.
I've always admired Cabral's unique style, but seeing them framed/displayed is a whole 'nother animal.
 cheers

I recently bought a book "La Fiesta de lo Feo" by another Mexican artist Roger Lopez, a contemporary of Cabral. As far as I know Lopez did not do any movie poster work. However, in the book, along with caricatures of politicians, actors, etc., Lopez also included a caricature of Ernesto García Cabral.

The somewhat cryptic dedication reads:
The charming and everlasting "Chango" (Monkey) Cabral. Dean among my colleagues, and the only living example of his species, which became extinct soon after the cooling of the earth's crust!

Yeah, I like this one a lot. The gold color of Tin Tan's shirt really pops, and makes the poster seem really lively. And it's a nice little joke to count the épée blades and see that he's fighting off five opponents without breaking a sweat.

I also have some non-poster Cabral items. Here is an advertising pamphlet for Bayer, with Cabral cover artwork and interior drawings:

This album shows some of the interior illustrations.

That's a beautiful Cabral cover, Deke. And his drawings on the inside are just as great!   thumbup

Hi Rosa, sorry I'm responding to your question so late. For a time in his career, Cabral was associated with the Mexican branch of the Bayer pharmaceutical company.

This item is an advertising pamphlet. Inside, there are stories, poems, cartoons, etc., along with advertisements for various Bayer drugs.

Above I included a link to an album that also has some photos of the interior pages.

I thought I had another Bayer publication with Cabral illustrations, but I am couldn't find it on my first search of the bookcase where I thought it was. When I come across it, I'll take some photos of it too.

This book Las Decadas del Chango García Cabral is pretty cool.  It was published in Mexico City in 1979 (text in Spanish).  It has hundreds of reproductions of Cabral artwork from four decades of his career.  Most of the images are monotone, but there are some color plates at the end.  There are fine art drawings/paintings, caricatures, plus magazine and commercial illustrations.  But not a single movie poster!
