Hi! We are Vectis Auctions!

Hi!

We are Vectis Auctions - The World's Largest Toy Auction House.

Vectis was established in 1988 by Roger and Jill Mazillius on the Isle of Wight and their first sale took place in 1989. From the humble beginnings of a shop front and back room, Vectis now occupy an auction site of 30,000 sq feet and a staff of 34.

With a turnover of £600,000 from eight auctions each year offering some 5,000 lots, things have changed - the turnover in 2008 for instance was £6,000,000 (over $10,000,000) holding over fifty auctions each year, selling around 35,000 lots! And achieving a few world records in the process!

A full colour catalogue is produced for each auction stating the number of lots, full description of the item, and other applicable details such as manufacturer, model number, colour and condition. An estimated value of the lot is also highlighted. All catalogues can be viewed on our website too, both past and present.

All auctions are room sales and are held live online direct on our website and on Invaluable.com therefore reaching a worldwide clientèle. Bidding can also be made via post, fax or telephone.

Whether you have a collection of hundreds or thousands, or just the one item, we will be only too pleased to offer you a professional, reliable and friendly service; something we pride ourselves on.

The list of collectable toys auctioned by Vectis is endless and we sell the following categories - Diecast, Trains, Doll and Teddy Bears, Lead, Plastic, Militaria, Tinplate, General Toys including Games, Constructional Toys, Railwayana, Books, Comics and Annuals.

We are now expanding in what is our 25th Anniversary year into new areas - one of which is Film & TV Posters and Memorabilia - so if you have anything we could auction for you please get in touch.

We look forward to being a part of this forum.

Thanks!

Our first Entertainment Memorabilia Auction is running on two days between July 11 and 12.

July 11 (a Friday) is for toys, comics and more including Star Wars figures and playsets: Vectis are the Number One Star Wars toy auctioneer in the world - just look through our Auction Database - to view prices you will have to register an account with us which is very easy!

July 12 (a Saturday, Paul :)) is for Film & TV Posters and Memorabilia.
We will announce various items soon but to tease you a little we do have a fantastic Enforcer UK 60x40 (UK Bus Stop) in, but not the usual style...this one is rare!

We noticed jedgerley provided a link to our site - thanks! You can also find a link to our site including telephone and fax numbers, and an email link, in our forum signature.

If you have any questions, please PM us or contact us direct using the email link.

Hi Paul,

We usually have viewing the week prior auction including the morning of the sale and you may view the sale by appointment before this. We are looking into the availability of Friday evening viewing for you so we will let you know about this as soon as we can.

In the meantime, if you would like to pop down to see us please let us know - we will be very happy to show you around.

Sounds good, plenty of viewing times always helps, and by appointment is a great luxury. Don't worry about the Friday, if there's viewing the weekend prior to the sale.

I have been to your premisses before as you sold a large collection of Film and T.V. related toys for me back in the early 90's I think it was, including about a 100+ film posters. Back then your auctions took place in Milton Keynes..

However, I'd still be glad of a look around to see how you have changed over the years, and how the posters will be handled/displayed..

Hi Paul,

We are usually only open on a weekend on the day of a sale, sorry.
Our staff are always happy to stay behind during the week though, so if you would like to pop down at any time in the week please let us know - we have changed massively since the early 1990s so it would be great for you to come and have a look around to see what has changed since your last visit.

All of the posters are now being taken care of by a specialist and we will have all individual lots (single posters) in their own poster sleeve to make it easier for yourself and others to view and inspect them.

If you have any other questions, please email us or give us a call and we can arrange a time for you to come in.

Thanks for having me over chaps, it certainly has changed since I was last there, the place is huge now. Nice to see everything spread out like that instead of stuff piled on top of other stuff like some places I've seen, less chance of damage. Good luck with the up coming auction, I maybe back over sooner than you think..

That is great to hear, Paul.
We do wish we could have spent longer with you, but due to cataloguing this was unfortunately not possible. Next time, however, we will be able to go through everything more freely without this constraint.
