I got this new to me Outsiders one from Australia but think it is a Lobby card one sheet? There are no perforations though(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/StarryKat/outsidersposter.jpg)...
Nice photosheet there, Starrykat. I need to find myself one.

thanks folks. I think the Big Sleep is amongst the best Japanese images for the film
it's only a magazine ad and I don't believe the image appears on any of the posters
I seem to recall that the Japanese poster for the Big Sleep had the artwork similar to the Italian with her wearing the dress. i dont like that style ...but this is very nice indeed. I think most of the 50s Japanese posters are really exquisite.
This pales in comparison to something like Blade Runner, but as a cat owner. This pleases me... First arrival this year.
the Japanese posters are great.
I also have the Japanese speed poster for this title.
Stupendous... faint2.gif
You have the true Bogie/Bacall collector touch there, Rich.
Congrats!!
clap clap
has nothing to do with either Bogie or Bacall!
I know... Chandler RULES!
;D
About time I dipped my toe in the buying waters again..
Couldn't resist picking up this.
Got it like this Jeff, and as I've only ever seen two, I was having it...
It's had some minor touch ups to the folds, otherwise it was in jollygood nick. A Canadian restorer did the work. I forget the name at the moment, have it wrote down somewhere...
Isn't Dario in Canada?
Isn't Dario in Canada?
I picked up this one at eMovie last night. Nice portrait shot, and looks like an interesting movie.

WoW Brandon, that is quite a disturbing and powerful image. I really like it a lot. Never heard about this film, looks like worth watching.
Thanks Rosa. A powerful image, indeed.
The film is based on the autobiography by Elizabeth Wurtzel. I just watched the film yesterday, on Amazon Prime streaming. It's pretty darn good, and Ms. Ricci is excellent in it.

Brandon, I didnt realize that your Prozac Nation poster was a JP B1 size.
Congrats to you on that nice acquisition. cool1
Look, I do buy those super cheap posters, so I'm happy you're selling them. I bought a few tonite, but only the Very Good condition ones. When you know a Good Fifty Shades of Grey is obviously not going to sell, why even bother? It's just dead weight.

And the "Starfalls" seem to be appearing a bit more frequently. Maybe a good sign for those that are hoping to add one to their own collections. (that there are more out there, than first thought?)
Another of my favorites that I have been wanting for a very long time, Harry Potter Lenticular.

Is this the one sheet size or the smaller one? Saw one back in Nov but missed out on it.
^ What the Master Ginger says :PYou are too much!!!! Thank you Rosa.....
Well done getting the Halloween DC Chris, difficult to get hold of any of those..Thank you Paul, I might be dreaming, but a set of these would be a collection all on their own!
Managed to pick this up today, and now have a Quad for every Panther film.
So that's where MY Halloween poster went... thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif I was jogging when I bid on it, and it really pissed me off because it made me stop a bunch of times. I couldn't see my phone because I had so much sweat in my eyes, and I kept getting emails that I had been overbid. Then I just turned it off and kept going. Glad it went to someone on the forum.Thank you T. I promise I will take good care of "YOUR" Halloween DC!!!! ;D One of my favorite Horror posters to date!
T

I think there are actually three but I may be wrong. This one is the mid size standee version. I saw the one sheet after it closed as well. Would have been great to get that one.
That flipped armadillo caught my eye
Yeah, it's an interesting capture, although I don't remember the scene from the film.
Anyway, congrats, RD.
It seems that there are not too many of those around. I did a little research on that re-release, and mentioned it in another thread.

As most of you know I have not bought a poster in awhile. But here is one I recently purchased off emovie the other night. I also have Paul holding onto a few until after I move. Can't wait to get those as well.

NEO---Your SPLASH poster is beautiful---much nicer than the US version.
Okay--peace out! Keep up the great poster purchasing/sharing. I'll see you in March!
CHEERS!
Congrats on the win and pick up. Always liked this imagery. thumbsup.gif
Your first example looks faded out a bit.
The color of Farrow's hair and skin tone all look to have gone to a light shade of green.
Just a thought: Maybe it was a copy that was taken off the line, by a print worker, prior to the last pass of inks, (and the printer's info was likely printed in black) because that person liked the way it looked in those more eerie, light green tones? (Similar to how some posters from the '30s thru the '70s, for example, have shown up, never folded, because someone snagged them before they reached the folding part of the line).
Just a guess, but in any case, it gives it a very different, overall feel. thumbup
There was a Marler Haley Halloween set on ebay last year or the year before, time kind of blends together these days, but anyway, the whole set was right around 1000 if I remember correctly. Wish I would have bought it now.
Hey there,
This is my first post outside of the 'Hello' section... great to find a place with such an active community for one of my passions.
I picked this up last week... took a bit of a stab on it, because it is a bit of an unknown. It's the Belgian poster release for Rosemary's Baby, though this particular print has a brighter/alternate image than all of the others of the same issue I could track down. EMP lists it as a possible proof. If anybody has any input or information, it'd be much appreciated!
On the left is the poster I purchased, on the right is what all other examples of this poster resemble.

he was a fine man, a great philanthropist & a top-notch citizen.
a perfect example of what people should be like
I own about 100 mock-ups from the 80s on that I got directly from two studios, and a good half are printed 27x41in. Most of them are terrible. I need to get rid of them, but I cannot sell them or give them away. I can only throw them away, which I may do when I move.

......Re the quad, what's the white border on top?
Well, retrospectively, maybe I should have shut my big mouth, since I have been told it is taboo to criticize one's purchase. So sorry about that. Different strokes for different people. I'm sure 90% of my collection is crap to you, Mark, as it should be. It's mine and I don't expect anyone else to like it......
T
I know there is an etiquette on here to say only positive things about people's purchases but it is good to hear contrary thoughts as well.
Thanks for the comments on the BTTF.
I'm guessing it's either a space for a snipe advertising the cinema and/or screenings or an uncut London Underground poster. Hope Paul can respond.
Mark
You didn't criticise my purchase Thierry, you gave your thoughts on a poster sold at Ewbanks without knowing who bought it. I know there is an etiquette on here to say only positive things about people's purchases but it is good to hear contrary thoughts as well. The only thing that annoys me is if someone is constantly negative or critical in their postings and there is no one like that on this forum. No, your collection is (more than) great but navigating your website has room for improvement!
Mark

Whenever someone tells me my stuff sucks, I usually just put it straight in the shredder because I'm sensitive like that
+1.
The freedom of speech is a good approach, but it's not without its faults. One of the main downsides is having to deal with the few, ultra-negative dingleberries, who think their opinions are "holier than thou", and launch all kinds of attacks, while in their (perceived) security, on the internet. I also welcome critical commentary, and fortunately, most people here are mature and intelligent enough to handle the free speech here.
Hey, who you calling an ultra negative dingleberry? I find such comments crappy, in fact, this is the kind of crap which breeds more dingleberries . And don't butt in, that just makes it worse.
:P
I guess if I dont know who the dingleberries are than I must be one of them. Ha!
Whenever someone tells me my stuff sucks, I usually just put it straight in the shredder because I'm sensitive like that
I agree with T
and while I'm at it, 98% of his collection sucks... but at least he'll agree
:P
Hey, that leaves 232 posters that suck less. Not bad methinks.
T

T
It would take him about 3 gallons of shredder oil alone just to dispose of all of the Bieber/Sex in the City material............
Funny, but not far fetched. If we were going to criticize posters we don't like, albeit in a nice and respectful way, I suspect many people would stop posting their gear by fear of being turned down.
I always thought that the purpose of a forum was to say what you thought, good or bad, about whatever said forum was about. Basically an exchange of thoughts and information. But I learned that a lot of collectors feel that criticizing their purchase is like criticizing their weight or physical appearance. It becomes a personal thing to many and many get offended. So poster collecting has turned into a love fest, everything is amazing, everything is wow and bravo. It's actually interesting how prints can be criticized, because they're not posters, but posters cannot be touched.
Some people just like everything, I just say what I like and keep my mouth shut if I don't care for it.
T
acted like DBs IMO
I need to get rid of them, but I cannot sell them or give them away. I can only throw them away, which I may do when I move.
Well, we definitely do not want anyone acting like a daybill or any other Aussie paper. I prefer to act like a bus shelter or a door panel.
I actually like the BTTF poster. Great pick up Mark.
Congrats on your recent pick ups Rich

Thanks Brandon for the kind words.
As you may know, I buy a lot of posters and much choose which ones are worth posting on the forum, otherwise it would just be constant regurgitation. I haven't posted on the new acquisition thread in a while because I feel I haven't purchased anything worth posting. But please feel free to pluck anything I may have overlooked or that you find interesting.
T
I do visit eatbrie.com occasionally, and it always gets me how eclectic this collection is. I would welcome a search option as I go there from time to time to pay a visit to the French GWTW, and have to say, sometimes it feels just like it, impossible to find. :P.

I think it's set up well. By years, director, etc. Just find one of those, press control+F and enter part of the word you're looking for, and voila. There may be a few to search through then, but it's not like scrolling over the entire page. And I agree, it's great to see such a nice, eclectic array of stuff there.
Me loves the Pink Panther, nice pickup! The Halloween pieces are both awesome, jealous, need to find one.
February has been turning out to be a busy month poster wise and am posting a few. The lat one is a doozy and needs some discussion over in the Star Wars thread.
First up, Yes Edge I decided to buy one anyway... Toy Story/Toy Story 2 Lenticular.

Another of my favorites that I have been wanting for a very long time, Harry Potter Lenticular.

A couple of upgrades, a pair of Jedi Yamakatsu posters.
Last and definitely most... I have no idea what it really is as I have never, yes me, have never seen one before. It looks to be an English 24 sheet, would be a half billboard or 12 sheet in the US, for Return of the Jedi. It is printed in three sheets and measures roughly 112" x 60" that's 284cm x 152cm for you metric folks. If anyone knows more about this I really really would love to hear about it, please post on it in the Star Wars thread where I will be putting it and a few more images shortly.

That's one thing cool about having a site, you can just upload anything you want to there, and it's mighty cool of you to share the site with the world.
50-70 people visit it every day, which is 50-70 people more than I ever thought would.
You should be my PR, Brandon. I didn't even know you could do that. Thanks for the tip.
To be honest here, the website was never created for anyone else but me. 15 years ago, with 100 posters to my name, my wife put it together so I would spend less time in the garage rolling and unrolling my posters. Little did she know, she created a monster. I have a feeling she regrets it.

It has been a very busy month for me.....I must say there are some nice finds being posted however. Keep it up ladies and goons.....
I finally won a Carrie. Funny thing I held out for the price I wanted to pay, and I got one in a very desirable condition. So my patience is starting to pay off.

First purchase off the bay in ages, but it was a must. I had the 8mm film as a kid, it was about the 3rd or 4th film we got, so watched it many times, usually mocking the Awesome (not-so)special effects... No wonder the poster is so scarce on a Quad.

Congratulations Chris, glad that your Mr Patience is starting to pay off and you found your posters. Mine is driving me crazy hehe :P
Ha!, thanks! It's very rare that my patience rears it's head. I just had the hard conversation with myself last night that I need to scale back a bit! I've been on a bit of a binge here lately. Think I might lay low on the purchases and save up for a more expensive piece..... we'll see how that works out :)
Same here. I think we all go through those phases. :) ;)I am still in a growing phase then Rosa!
Filmarmada Wait is your name Chris? Did you grab that polish paper I pointed out?
Jeff!!! We haven't chatted much lately.....was it something I said?
I like everything about the movie Carrie! Its on my top 15 horror list!
Jeff: Its just a cheapie. $30 Its an Italian print from the 1990 and 28x54 inches.
The S2s recreations are about 1k right?
I am still in a growing phase then Rosa!
Filmarmada Wait is your name Chris? Did you grab that polish paper I pointed out?
Yeah man, my name is Chris as well. I did pick up that Polish print, thanks again for spotting that. I'll snap some pics of the packaging for you, so you have an idea on the rolled prints.
Chris!!! haha that is gonna get confusing, especially if CSM wanders back to us. I am glad you got that Polish paper, if you had not, it would have come to me! Thanks for the photos on the packaging also. If you like the way Wolfgang packaged it, you can always put him in sellers to praise. I pick up my flat package from him tomorrow.
PAUL!!!! That CLAW is EPIC!!! clap
Jason You already know I love the Godzilla stuff you picked up......just send them to me, it will save time!!!
Jeff Isn't it funny how the backed Kong S2 went for 50% less?
