You guys are already killing it this month. notworthy.gif Maybe I should post this little one elsewhere.......

Chris, that is a really good looking Thai Dead & Buried!! thumbsup.gifThanks. That is a seller photo, but I opened it a little bit ago and it lives up!
Congrats on another cool pick up!

@ Charlie, well done. Wont ask how many apocalypse now you have :P
Congrats!
You do know that 'complete' is a pretty pliable term around these parts, right? :)
Congrats, Charlie.
Tis a cool poster, for sure.
Great image. thumbsup.gif
@ Deke, I am always looking forward to seeing your posters. I thought I knew about Mexican cinema...clearly i do not
A rare (for me) non-Mexican purchase. I was planning to buy a Mexican poster off of craiglist, only to discover when I got to the seller's apartment that it had been dry-mounted to foamcore (which wasn't evident in the CL listing). The dry-mounting was a dealbreaker for me, but he was willing to sell me this Tron quad at a good price:

How about a Conan B2!
Sweet poster. It is always a treat where there is an opportunity to work the "Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women." quote into everyday conversation.
How about a Conan B2!

That Tron Quad is nice. Great pickup. The Rocky one is interesting. I do not think I have seen that one before.
I haven't seen Dolly Bell, but Emir Kusturica is a great director. When Father Was Away on Business, which won the Palme D'Or at the 1985 Festival de Cannes, is a personal fav of mine. And I can see that Do You Remember Dolly Bell?, which is his first feature, also won the AGIS award at Venice. I need to check it out.
T
Congratulations Steve, the Kusturica poster is lovely. She has an apple, is she meant to be Eve?
(I made it small to not distract from the Kusturica poster).
T
THE TORTURE CHAMBER OF DR. SADISM (Italian):
Nice Rocky! I think I have one of those buried around here somewhere....
Have you ever seen Arizona Dream? Back in the day I had to buy a region free DVD player to watch it (Studio Canal I think) and I never regretted it! The film is a bit kooky, but an outstanding cast. And of course I got plenty of use out of the DVD player as well :)
2F - I like the poster, and being a bit of a computer nerd thought why not. The movie is supposed to be ok! Electric Dreams (1984) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087197/)
Nice poster for a fun movie! Talking about soundtracks: this has a really good one by Giorgio Moroder and Oakley (from Human League). Cheesy synth pop, but very cool. It made my day when i listened to it now - 80's comedy end title track, at its best:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PE1lzqJCeJ0 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PE1lzqJCeJ0)
(super serious + rock people: please don't throw stones on me! :D)
And the Apocalypse Now checklist is complete:
I did, but it never hooked me like When Father Was Away on Business, which is a masterpiece.

That Star Wars presents nicely as a Quad. Anyone want to trade a quad for a one-sheet ;D
Anyone seen this actually on paper? I got a few this week, didnt think this style was actually made in one-sheet size.

What kind of "chew" if you don't mind me asking?
In any case, nice wins. Another cool Krampus poster. thumbup
Thanks Neo, The chew was the posters are supposed to be sent back, (orders from Disney). which meant there was only two (extras) to be shared out between 5 working there. The guy I know who is one of the managers said he was having one for me, which caused the others to kick off about it, culminating in one of them complaining to the area Manager, who said no one was getting any, they were all being sent back.. One has been filtered out as you can see. ;)
All petty stuff, seems like this film has everyone in a frenzy....
Oh, and the other Krampus is a Banner, 5'x8'.
I would like to congratulate an APF member. Wonderful find. Going to a Wonderful collection. :-*

Sorry I'm late to the party this month, work just won't stop. I am amazed at the quality of posters this group shows. Everything is really awesome so far this month.
Here's a cool poster I got for one of my favorite movie serials. It's a 1950's re-release. I'd love to get the Argentinean poster for this too.

Lots of underbidder stories from yesterday. I was the second underbidder on the Reservoir Dogs Cannes poster, but decided I could get the B1 with the same art for cheaper. And because I had a total I did not want to exceed for the auction, and this one had been on my list for a long time:

Snagged this one as well:

I thought I was the only schmuck out there who loves this serial.
I got hooked on it by watching Matinee at the Bijou.
Lovely Belgian, Mike.
cheers
saw a trailer for this recently, never seen the film, interesting

Thanks Rosa the secret Star Wars fan ;) one day...one day. But start with episode 3 please!!!
You do mean, Episode 4: A New Hope (I hope).
That would be Star Wars (1977), Rosa.
Nice haul Gargs. I see the Army of Darkness is right up at the top. Such a great poster!

I AM CONFUSED already lol. But sure I appreciate the recommendations and interest. I always feel like i am missing something! Will keep this at hand. Many thanks!! thumbsup.gif
Yeah it would all make sense if ya saw the two episodes above.
Just saying jump on the bus and join the rest. But seriously In the above posts I was only saying if you ever were to watch one start with Star Wars from 1977. The first one out....its episode "4" out of 9 movies total.
Or just watch Spaceballs and That would be like using Cliffnotes :)
Have a good day/night/week!
Brandon Congrats on Ferris, great film!
Ari I really like The Day it Came to Earth...something about it.
Jason As I mentioned earlier congrats on that Polish!!

Thanks Ted! I am very happy with my winnings from emp majors...big spender 76 bucks!

To me, 90% of collecting is about the chase, and when I say 90%, I actually mean 100% since I put the posters away, never to be seen again, as soon as I receive them.
This one had been on my list for years. I wanted a mint folded copy. It is one of my favorite Bardot posters. And by Grinsson too, who I also collect. My last "big" purchase of the year. The rest will probably be cheap modern stuff.
The Night Heaven Fell (1958) (Art by Boris Grinsson)
Happy for you Brandon! :)
Recently a seller on Ebay had their S2 reproductions on sale for a great price and they still do!. I got up THE INVISIBLE MAN, FRANKENSTEIN and what I believe to be one of the greatest posters ever made THE SIN OF NORA MORAN. They live up to everything I've heard.

A bunch of very nice pickups Paul. I am really tempted to see the Warcraft movie as a former WoW junky but don't know if it is going to be worth it. Hard to tell at this point.
Looks like a good movie.
It comes out in January, so the answer is no.
T
That's from my wife's company!!! She's a visual effect artist for Blizzard Ent.Scary, I almost applied to work there a few years back, I could have been working with your wife.

Lawl. You can't judge a movie by its release date. 8)
You're kidding, right? I will assume you are, but just in case... January and September are and have always been the studios' graveyards. When I was at Disney and DreamWorks, we always knew we had a bomb if it got released in those months.
Whatever does not get traction as an academy award contender before December 31st is released in January. February is a little better, but not by much. Good for animated movies like Lego or the upcoming KFP3. March is when things become slightly interesting.
Same with September. Whatever doesn't fit in the blockbuster summer schedule is dumped in September. October is the beginning of Oscar season.
T
Whoa!
Gotta put on shades to look at this beauty.
8)
Well done, man!
You're kidding, right? I will assume you are, but just in case...

Haven't posted in a while but i managed to get my hands on some posters i really wanted for a while now, they are nothing special compared to what most of you have but i'm happy about it;)did you compare the "Why So Serious" to the pictures i sent you about a month ago?
1) hatefull 8 teaser
2) dark knight why so serious (completes the trilogy:D)
3) secret life of walter mitty (film really touched me and overall loved it, except the skiing in manhattan and some other daydream parts. Even though the poster is just OK i really wanted it)
4) lotr fellowship of the ring (first one of the trilogy)
5) little miss sunshine (nice poster that will brighten up the place + fav movie of my gf)
So i'm very happy this month even though i burned through my poster budget for december:p i'm still a bit worried about the batman poster though, given the amount of bootlegs going around but the guy seems to be a real collector and seems honest. I will post some pics soon
I don't post much, but with a few days off and a really good month I wanted to share:
I wish we had a "like" button for posts, so we could compliment people that way. I see some nice pickups throughout this thread.
I don't post much either as I never shoot photos for a long time, (I shoot collection stuff when I really have no other pressing work, and right now, I had way too much pressing work) however I did get some items - rare things - that I hope to shoot pics of soon that I am positive will be enjoyed here, like a Martian Chronicles poster that has never been seen to my knowledge
I don't know how you do it, Rich. This kind of pandemonium would drive me nuts. I'm way too OCD for this. I don't have a single poster not filed away.
T
Perhaps sending some of those my way would help with the problem. cool1
I'll be happy to.. send cash!HAHA.gif
