. I paid a little more than i wanted to (but isn't that the case these days? Geez, when did poster prices jump? There's nothing cheap any more).
Bye
Mike 2nd Largest? What is your 1st largest? I need to pick up a Jaws! Congrats!!!!
For you, Brandon, who says that I don't post my shit on the forum.
Here's one that I'm actually quite pleased with. Huge Blues Brothers fan here. Didn't know this one existed.

Congrats Monster, cool Cannibal poster!
Ans to think I thought I may get the first image up. Oh well.
The second largest Jaws poster I ever bought.

US OS for The Stunt Man (1980)
Ive always liked the art on this poster, and because of my prior work background, has that tie-in.
It has a fun tag line, too.

Stunt films... you know..... 8)
Steve, do you have a pic of your IT 4F of this one?
That Stuntman you have listed is not the Peter O'Toole one, but a 1968 turkey instead. Totally different film.
He may no be ripping cities, but a six foot imaginary rabbit is creepy in my book... ;D

Ahhh, sorry, it is a different film with Marisa Mel.
Here is the perspective of the film from a member:
Can't find my APF post, actually, haven't tried as will be too hard so here is a 2f same design on the web:

I just received this one yesterday. I guess I am out of step with the majority. Most of you prefer monster thingies ripping cities to pieces. I kind of prefer gentler films.

Is your Children of the Damned OS linen backed, hepcat?
And I'm also really liking this one for Salto Mortale. Is that a first release, German poster from 1931? Beautiful!!

This is great. Me want!

good to see Rosa Carmina. She knew how to wear pearls. thumbsup.gif
I think these posters I just received are pretty neat. They are from the Cultural Program of the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Among theater, dance, music, poetry, and other cultural events and performances, the 1968 Olympics also hosted a film festival.
Here are a couple posters advertising "El Cine Japones" (Japanese Cinema) and "El Cine Cientifico" (Scientific Cinema) respectively. I like the artwork quite a bit. It has a very 60's hippie vibe to it, while also being reminiscent of art nouveau. The artist for both posters is David Palladini.

Those are awesome!
Picked this up from EBay recently. It's an Italian '62 release of Way of a Gaucho. Haven't seen any of these on EMP or Heritage before. Love the paler figure of Gene on this.
Cost me peanuts as well, one happy chappy today

Congratulations Rosa on your Rudolph Valentino acquisitions.
Just read who he was, an italian born actor the ladies liked but died at age 31
Real life needs an "unfriend" button
Congratulations on getting The Long Goodbye Rich I had that lot bookmarked for weeks on EBay hoping the seller would eventually reduce the price.

Nice stuff Rich and Peter. Love when the big leaguers share their new stuff. thumbsup.gif
I just think the WC is splendid. I like her ring, bracelet, earrings too. Well done Sir :)
I dont know its pretty dull over in these parts. On the other hand this is how I picture an evening at Rich's

A few of my March pick-ups. I'm usually pretty horror-centric, but it's been a good couple of weeks for classic 80's comedy on EMP, so I switched gears...
One Crazy Summer (This one is as close to NM as I've seen for an 80's poster, gorgeous paper)
One Crazy Summer.
Never heard of this film, and I think very highly of Cusack and Moore. Is the film any good, the poster's Sun notwithstanding?
Is there a story here, Rich? I always find it interesting to hear about the ones that got away.

It is decent. It is more or less a Better off Dead prequel, but not nearly as good as better off dead. If you are a fan of those 2, it is definitely worth watching.
yeah.. one insert comes up and sells for $49
another one comes up and sells for $49
another one comes up and sells for $39
all BIN
I need that poster, so now I have it that ebay search is a tab that opens up when I start the browser
another seller posts one and before I see it, it sells for $19
now I'm watching harder
another #*&%@* sells for $29
I'm getting seriously pissed off now
another sells
another sells
9 copies of this damned insert sold by 2 separate sellers on two separate coasts and I missed every damned one
and each time I can't be missing them by minutes.. so I contact the guy. too late.. all gone, he doesn't know anything about the other guy.
of the 9, 4-5 were bought by one dealer...
I have no clue how he did it
2 were bought by another
ebay search notices don't go out that fast
very irritating

Speaking of 80's Cusack comedies... Any "Hot Pursuit" fans here?
Never seen it, is it worth a watch Matt?
the US and a nice poster as well, but the art used here in the US was used in other INTL markets too

This is a terrible photo, but such a cool looking poster.
After picking up the Halloween Double Crown last month I went looking for the other 3 Halloween DC's. I found this Lovely DC from Ghostbusters. I had not seen this one before. Has anybody else seen this before? It reads, Friendly health warning, ghostbusting can seriously damage your sanity. Looks like a pack of smokes to me!
I love the look on her face!!!!
Its all down hill now. I see many more DCs in your future(may they be the 3 halloweens you need first). Thanks man! BTW again, I like the Daybill!!!!
What are the dimensions on that, Chris? And I agree.. the look on Weaver's face is priceless. wynk
Thanks man! BTW again, I like the Daybill!!!!
I actually found a few pretty cool Nightmare on Elm Street Double Crowns...but no more Halloweens yet....
The Double Crown is half of a Quad....so 20x30. I actually think this is another Marler Haley printed poster. Getting absolutely no where on this theory though. I think her face is my favorite part of the poster. During the time in the film when she was possessed!
And a great Zuul she was! devil 2I think I would have to agree........bad never looked so good! >:D

Excellent find Chris, I only have one myself from that film...
Do be carful though, people often pass off cut down Quads as DC's.
Hi there. I hope everyone is well. I'm just stopping by for my monthly visit. I see that you've started off the month with some great stuff. March Madness continues... Below are three random things from my posting on my thread this month. HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!! May you be extra lucky in your poster shopping today.
CHEERS!

CHEERS!!!
Oh my stars, Rosa! Have you NEVER SEEN "THE MUNSTERS" TV show? What a wonderful old show and, YES, THE Yvonne DeCarlo is in it as Lily Munster...daughter of Count Dracula (better known as "Grandpa"), married to Frankenstein's monster and has a werewolf son. She also has a god-awful ugly niece (who resembles Marilyn Monroe...at least, i believe that is what the producers were going for) that is sort of the black sheep of the family. And they have a pet dragon named Spot that lives under the stairs. Heck, the theme song alone is worth the trouble to watch the show. Crazy cool, man!
Ugly niece that resembles Marilyn Monroe?! That's quite something.. :P
I also had this arrive today.
It's the US HS for the 1978 animated version of Lord of the Rings, directed by Ralph Bakshi. I think the art is incredible and was done by the very talented Tom Jung.

been a little slack of late, nothing seemed to be jumping out.
then all of a sudden LOADS of stuff appeared!!!!
odd that this 2F for ilsa showed up at a good price [condition is reflected] and then the photbustas also showed up from a different source the same week. luckily i had just sold a few things and could get them both.
both sellers also made out that they were in lesser condition than i think they actually are!

Interesting looking art on this one, TW, with the large Hitler profile. It almost has elements of some of those WWII propaganda posters (the upper half of the poster, I mean). The artist, Crovato created a statement here, that's for sure.i have to say i do like crovato art.

What I found interesting is that the printer, Guzman, Lavalle y Cia placed what looks similar to a US NSS number, on the lower right corner (230/55).
Very interesting, Jeff, but my eyes are drawn to something else that I find much more interesting.
T
I missed that one. Nice.i COMPLETELY understand! its a difficult subject to broach, especially now i have quite a few. i hasten to add i am COMPLETELY against the ethos of nazism. so much so i have been on anti-fash demonstrtions and fought with them on a couple of occasions. although i should say not for a few years as i am no longer a youngster.
The Nazi stuff, I can do without. Sorry guys.

Yeah. I have several scene cards, including a couple of the delux ones Being the cheapskate I am, I've never been able to bid enough for the TC until now.
Thank you Jay, I would love to see them if you dont mind sharing a pic.
Absolutely adore the Gene Kelly material. One of the greats!
Here's one of mine that I had thought lost to the passages of time. Managed to dig it out this morning and I just like the stark black and white for this re-release

Okay, done for today. My slim pickings of the day:
Well done dude! You've got a heck of a collection shaping up thumbsup.gifThanks Crazy Vick, tons of fun; next step is to clear out a proper space to store them all ;D
Nice adds there, Devin!. They look in great shape, too. Thanks Jeff, I'm really happy with them. For the most part the image sides are in really good shape (just the All You Need is Kill has significant damage) but on a lot of them the back sides show the effects of the "wavy tri-fold". I was really surprised by the different types of paper as well... some are glossy, some are matte, some are on a very thin (almost see through) paper weight.

Glad she is finally at home

Yes..I stopped at 16k.......the cut bid option was helping for a second....anyway... it really took me a while to accept it.... but it is gone ...need to give my mind a rest...
Laura went for more than i expected. The insert didn't sell a couple of years ago....
Boy this hurts....
ROSA and T...BOTH of you will find better, cheaper copies of GWTW and the LAURA one sheets eventually. The HA auction prices were just insane....way above etimated prices in many cases. I think these quarterly auctions draw a bigger audience and prices than the regular auctions. These same posters at other times of the year don't go nearly as high. That being said, of course, I spent too much on the 2 posters I got. One was a bucket list poster....the other wasn't even on my radar...I just tuned in at the wrong time and got caught up. Ooops! But you WILL get your posters eventually.
These same posters at other times of the year don't go nearly as high.
Oh no...what I really wanted totally alluded me for the most part. I did get the one poster though. Hooray. Neither I did get were all that exciting, so I'll share them later. I'm at work now any way (shh!). By the way, happy Easter everyone.
I only get upset if I miss out on something I should have bought, but if something goes for something that I deem too high, then I feel sorry for the buyer and happy that I didn't get caught in a bidding war. He can have his $17k GwtW. You will get it for $14k some other time. Have faith. It will show up again.
T
I was just a watcher in the wings, this weekend, but congrats, T, on your wins here. Sweet pickups, they are.

T
Rosa, another one will cross your path, I'm sure of it. Hopefully it will be cheaper than this one. Good thing about this hobby is that something else will come up that you desire and take the pain away on this loss.
I'm with T on this one, seems a little bit expensive to me, also the Laura 1sheet was a crazy price. That's a poster I desire but there's no way I'm getting involved when it hits those numbers.
Sorry for your loss, Rosa. That GWTW is a beaut, and I'm sure that someone will let you know if they see another in the future.Thank you, appreciate the support and good advice. Nothing compares to APFres and chocolate to get over these things...
Cyd is all leg in that poster, Paul.

SSSHHHHH....don't tell people about the site! Haha. In short yes. I pointed it out to Chris about 2 or 3 weeks ago.
There are no leagues, just good and bad posters, from all countries, of all sizes, at any price.
Nice Critters catch, there, Chris. Simple black and white and it works SO well.
I very much like this poster artist. The art is very playful Congratulation. thumbsup.gif

Great timing too. Next week is Critters' 30th anniversary. I have never seen this movie (which is why I don't own a single poster for it). Is it any good?
