The last of my stuff got moved from the shack-0-rama today, including my long-buried NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET pinball machine. While it's not ready for play yet, it was great to see it after years buried away.

Just in time for Halloween!

Hi there! Did you survive Halloween? I hope so...

DEVON: Glad you also liked the "spooky" post...and KING DINOSAUR. Ha! Happy
belated .Halloween

TED: Super glad you appreciated BLACK DEVIL DOLL. It's a total flashback, non=PC hoot of a poster. Rated X by an all-white jury. Ha! CHEERS!

I am really, really running out of new stuff to post as you'll see in the lackluster posting below. (And I've been warning you this was gonna happen for weeks now...)

Let's take a look...

SEX AND THE CITY (Style B):

What the heck is THIS doing in the Shock-A-Rama Poster Show?  I told you it was getting to be slim pickings around here...  Actually, if you must know. I liked/watched the TV series. I had heard the show was good from co-workers years ago while it was on, so (just like I do now because i do not watch TV / do not have cable) I bought the various season sets (having never seen the show) and watched them. Sure, it was a chick show (my first clue SHOULD have been it was the various women in my department at the newspaper that were the ones talking about it)...but since I had bought the entire series i stuck with it. It was entertaining. I did see both of the movies...eh. I wasn't impressed with either of them--but have a poster for each title i think. I got this one because it features the 4 main characters (and it was CHEAP). Did i need it? No. But it had been DAYS since my last poster fix (remember, most of these other posters below were purchased in August before I moved back to my house)....so....

SINDBAD THE SAILOR:

Not to be confused with the Guy Williams movie of the same name (and the same unfortunate alternate spelling), this poster is for an animated adventure (which i've never seen). I picked this up just because I have almost every Sinbad movie poster (except the `1947 version with Douglas Fairbanks Jr. Were there any more i missed?).

THE BOYS NEXT DOOR:

Another film I have never seen, but always meant too, THE BOYS NEXT DOOR isn't quite a horror movie...but it's about two recent high school graduates (Maxwell Caulfield and Charlie Sheen) who kind of go a bit bonkers and go on a crime spree. I think. I've heard a lot of good things about this film and could kick myself as i always seemed to see this in the bargain bin at video stores back in the VHS era...and i NEVER picked it up. Oh well. Maybe I'll catch it some day...

THERE WAS A LITTLE GIRL:

Yes, i DO already have one of these---gotten not so long ago. Why a second copy? This one appears to be in better shape than the one I scored before. I hope so. I've just GOT to sell some of my posters soon---I am THAT financially strapped. (No, i will NOT be selling my really good stuff. Just dupes and stuff i don't care about...).  I bought this in early August.

SEXUAL FANTASIES USA:

Gimmick Alert!  The first audience participation adult film? ESP-Erotic Sensation Profile? Ha!  I'm sure the "special device" everyone received was some slip of paper with a sexual point value thing or something like that. Ha!  Scam gimmick---but I had to have it. Another August purchase.

THAR SHE BLOWS:

I'm a sucker for those Something Weird-esque nudies (like THE EROTIC ADVENTURES OF ZORRO or TRADER HORNEE). I should have let it go, but....THAR SHE BLOWS!

ARABIAN ADVENTURE (English one sheet):

I've heard good things about this film and someday I would like to track it down. I have the US one sheet---but have always dug the English version. Do I have this already? I don';t think so... Hmm.Drat it! I DO own one already. i was just reviewing my thread and there, towards the beginning, is this same poster. ARGH! More wasted money buying a duplicate... Oh well.

DEVIL AT 4 O'CLOCK:

It's the early 60s disaster epic with Frank Sinatra and Spencer Tracy. I had never even heard of this flick until i caught the tail end of it playing in a tiki bar. Wow! Love my disaster flicks--and two classic stars. I already have a copy of this. This is just an upgrade.

GOLDFINGER and DR. NO (re-release combo):

Speaking of upgrades, this is the 3rd copy of this poster I've purchased. I think i FINALLY have one I can be happy with. I now have all of the one sheets from all of the Bond films (Dr. No thru On Her Majesty's Secret Service are the 80s re-release versions however). Whoo hoo!

JUNGLE MOON MEN:

Whoo hoo (again)...at last!  My first Jungle Jim poster. After he was deemed too old to play Tarzan (how rude...) and was replaced in the role by Lex Barker, Johnny Weismuller found new life as jungle adventurer Jungle Jim in a series of movies. I've never seen them (I haven't seen a lot of stuff surprisingly), but as a fan of the Tarzan films, I have wanted to include these posters. This one sounds fun. Moon men? Zowie!

And that's all for now.  You have survived the horrors of Halloween. Get ready though...election day is coming! That actually sounds like it could be VERY scary this year.  EEEK!

CHEERS!

THAR SHE BLOWS is great, always wanted one, LOVE Dave Friedman. I had the video years ago, couldn't watch it, but I like the title. AND its catch phrase I use very often. (people tease me about it)

I would like to watch an edited version as I like the production values, or lack thereof but the sex is off putting.

GREAT Poster though.

Thanks for visiting ARI and JEFF. At least one of the slim pickings for my November 1st post met with your approval. (I realize the Halloween post yesterday was more than slightly better...but you can't have winners every time. Sigh...)

CHRIS: Thanks for stopping by. It's always nice to see you. Glad you also like THAR SHE BLOWS. Ha! Also thanks for the kind words on my pinball machine. Unfortunately i can NOT get it to work again and I have NO IDEA where the keys that open it up are. ARGH!  I'm sure I have them...just have to unpack them or find them. It's a cool one though. It was a Christmas gift many, many moons ago...

Hey CONOR, glad you like the pinball machine. You have a lot of games in your uber-cool man cave. Do you have a CREATURE or TALES pinball game? I don't think i've seen either of them. I don't think i could handle two more machines. They take up far more room thank i thought. I don't have a man cave (well, unless you count the whole house). Heck, i don't even have a basement. But thanks for digging it.

JEFF, thanks for popping by. What do YOU read Playboy/Penthouse for if NOT for the articles? Hmm? Ha!

Thanks man! Well, I built a small scale virtual pinball machine. It is not the same as original pinball, BUT you can play a bunch of different pinball tables on one cabinet.  I do not have a video of mine but here is a good example

My mother bought my brother and I each a pinball machine for Christmas back in the 90s. She got them on eBay. She got me the NIGHTMARE one and my brother got a vintage KISS game. They were about $1,500 each at the time. But wow! I just looked on ebay and saw one like mine for $5,000 and one like my brother's for $15,000. CRAZY!  (There is also a CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON currently for $7,000 and a TALES FROM THE CRYPT for $5,000!)

Pinballs are super expensive. My friend has a Bally Embryon his father bought back in the 80s (he got a Donkey Kong Jr. for thrown in for an extra cent).  My father in law gave away a Roller Coaster pin years ago. I just did not have the room......

TED: Glad you like the British ARABIAN ADVENTURE. It's soooo different than the US poster (which looks like a page from a comic book). I don't think i have the quad yet (or do I?) which is different art yet. Thanks for popping in.

I still have almost a WEEK to go until my next post, so i thought I'd throw out an insignificant little teaser to keep you interested in my silly little thread to have you come on back around the 15th. Here it is:

DELIRIUM:

I've never seen DELIRIUM, don't think I've ever heard of it. However, to me, this poster is NOT DELIRIUM. Instead, if you've ever seen Something Weird's presentation of the never theatrically released MONSTER AT CAMP SUNSHINE, you'll recognize the poster art for DELIRIUM used for the CAMP SUNSHINE art work. (This was paired with THE BEAST THAT KILLED WOMEN on DVD---such a wild and awesome combo! Nudist camp horrors! Ha!)

Hi there! Happy mid-November. Jinkies. The holidays will soon be upon us. Heck, Thanksgiving is only 9 days (?) away. And I do not want to even think about Christmas yet. Yikes!

Anyway, as usual, here are 10 new posters I recently acquired. These are about as exciting as the last bunch...in other words, they are NOT exciting at all. ho-hum.  Enjoy or don't.

And JEFF, I knew you were an Op Ed kind of guy...especially where the Op Ed folds out. Ha!

And now, posters away...

CHEERS!

BODY CANDY:

Did i need this? No. Although i do like the artwork of a girl in a candy wrapper. Clever. Never saw the flick though.

CARNY GIRL:

I know it's just some old nudie poster...but I really liked/wanted CARNY GIRL. Something about it reminded me of my OLGA movie posters...albeit at a carnival. I didn't need this though...And I've seen at least two others since I got this one. Ha!

FANTASIA (British quad 1982 re-release):

I totally dig this 1982 re-release of Fantasia. The demon from the NIGHT ON BALD MOUNTAIN segment is awesome. It really makes the quad for me. Fantasia was one of the earliest movies I remember seeing (at the long-gone but sooooo epic WINCHESTER DRIVE IN in San Jose.. They had like 6 or 7 screens....just amazing!

S.O.S. TITANIC ( French ):

Think I missed this 70s version of the Titanic re-telling. Cool little French affiche though.

THE GREAT DIAMOND ROBBERY:

I have no idea why i bought this. It was back in September during the move when I was withOUT the internet. There was an auction. I jumped on with my phone (which I hate) and bid randomly on a bunch o' stuff...like this. Hmm. The best part about it for me is the woman. She looks to me like if they made WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE when Jane Hudson was in her early 30s and trying for a comeback---instead of waiting until she was much older.

SIREN OF BAGDAD:

Another auction item i should NEVER have bid on. It's in too rough of shape for me (now that I can see it on a larger screen besides my phone). This was from the same auction as the one above--but with rips and ...ugh. I'll re-sell this one soon.

A SWINGIN' SUMMER:

A BEACH PARTY knock off...withOUT Frankie & Annette. I love my BEACH PARTY movies (someone has to, right?) ---have all of the posters (of course) and a few of the other knock-offs...why not this one as well?

ONE SPY TOO MANY:

One of the many movies made from recycled MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. TV episodes and  released to theaters. Zowie! I have a foreign one (Australian?) but I think this is my first US one sheet. I've only ever seen one episode of THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. (guest starring Sonny & Cher as a fashion designer and a model!), but I do have the series on DVD and will watch it...eventually.

THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY:

Ahhh...the trouble with this poster is it is also one of the ones I bid on while without internet...and should have known better. The condition is too bad for my taste. I'll be getting rid of it. Oh well...

LOVE NEST:

Not in the best condition, but...this is my very first Marilyn Monroe one sheet (NOT counting re-releases and foreign re-releases for things like SOME LIKE IT HOT or ALL ABOUT EVE). Also bought during the same auction where I had to use my phone...although there are issues with it, I am thrilled to have it.
