Quite a collection! Grab the NBC's and a Space Odyssey and it's the greatest ever.
It astonishes me how many of these have been produced the past ten years.Fifteen years ago I was wondering why they don't make more of them.Great the call was answered but, unfortunately, most of them just didn't do anything for me.The images were often lame, the fields of depth were lacking, just disappointing. There are a few in the past ten years I dig,Monster House is cool, looks like a good quality production.
Besides Space Odyssey and the NBC's (their rarity puts tem in another class) most the pre-'04 lenticulars have a actually come down a bit in price.Lost World,Frighteners...you can find one cheaper than you could fifteen years ago.
It's funny to see the usual sellers with stuff like ET and Lilo listed at $125...was $75 back then.....and even that was way too high!
The newer ones are priced insane!! $200 for a Monster House,$200 for an Ice Age....highway robbery! Anything new that comes out is automatically $200-300....stupid! Market value hasn't changed much but gouging is has become standard procedure across the board.
Spiderman and Avatar are unreal too me.Thousands for those? I realize Spidey is the man and Avatar is huge, but those images aren't worth the money.Too me,a great lenticular is one with a great image and good quality,Frighteners,NBC's,Odyssey,Lost World.Material like that is the total package.
Bottom line,if you're collecting for investment, the majority of these will only dip in value in the coming years.
If you're collecting cuz ya just love em',then you have fun road ahead.
Happy collecting,
Anthony
