I remember this episode and the Rosebud sled. If I recall, there were 3 of them made and Spielberg now owns one. Falk and Spielberg were very close. Spielberg directed him in the first episode of the first season of Columbo, Murder by the Book, and one of the later episodes, the one with the robot, had the main child genius character named after Spielberg. I wonder if this is the sled Spielberg now owns.

i think the rosebud sledge is a prop - there was a scene outside with fake citizen kane gates so i would presume it was a homage
i remember seeing a killing in a columbo episode that was filmed a bit different and saw it was directed by spielberg
