Ghost of Frankenstein (1942):  bed1

With 3- and 6 sheet goodness on display on the right side!

What looks to be another 6 sheet on the left is not shown in the pressbook, but the title font matches that on the left. I think that design looks fantastic, also.

Forgive me if any of these photos have been posted before but I just discovered there is a fantastic searchable archive of photos from the Farm Security Administration (high-res files are available). Overview: http://www.loc.gov/pictures/collection/fsa/

"The photographs in the Farm Security Administration - Office of War Information Photograph Collection form an extensive pictorial record of American life between 1935 and 1944. This U.S. government photography project was headed for most of its existence by Roy E. Stryker, who guided the effort in a succession of government agencies: the Resettlement Administration (1935-1937), the Farm Security Administration (1937-1942), and the Office of War Information (1942-1944). The collection also includes photographs acquired from other governmental and non-governmental sources, including the News Bureau at the Offices of Emergency Management (OEM), various branches of the military, and industrial corporations."

This photo is most relevant to my interests.  It was taken in front of a San Antonio movie theater in 1939.  In the back you can see paper for "Castillos en el aire", which was a Hollywood-produced Spanish language film, intended to challenge Mexico & Argentina to get a piece of the Spanish language movie pie.  It didn't work out:

These ones are quite incredible documents of their times, not all that long ago:

"Flags of the Confederacy displayed at movie house on Lincoln's birthday, Winchester, Virginia" (1940)

"Negro going in colored entrance of movie house on Saturday afternoon, Belzoni, Mississippi Delta, Mississippi" (1939)

A couple less-depressing ones.

"Children looking at posters in front of movie, Saturday, Steele, Missouri" (1938)

"Houses. Atlanta, Georgia" (1936)

Yes, I noticed that too!  No wonder the subject of the photo looks so miffed!

Maybe he was the disgruntled culprit?  He looks like he would fit the cast perfectly...they should have given him closer to the top billing!  ;)
