Once the current auction ends and the new one moves up in the schedule, our gallery links rotate to that position.
We have changed the auction format on MoviePosterBid. Starting with the auction of Belgian posters that ended on Feb 20th, we have gone to a 14 day auction format. However, we will still have 45 auctions this year! While all auctions will now be 14 days, each auction will overlap the previous week's auction by 7 days, so we'll have 2 auctions running most weeks.
Facts are that unlike those other auction houses, we are just 3 people at MoviePosterBid and we have other business interests that require our time, like for instance, our comic book and comic art auction website
www.comicbidz.com where you'll find lots of great comics related collectibles from Golden Age comics & comic art to Pulps, Big Little Books and other cool items.
At the same time, because we are reducing our poster auction schedule somewhat, we are eliminating lots of the lower quality material we sell, which means we're going to be selling more higher quality posters and also, more bulk lots as we clear out lots of material we will no longer be selling as single posters.
Other information
On February 4th the Post Office raised shipping rates again. The increase in rates was the largest increase in postal history and forced us to completely overhaul our own rates for shipping. The New Rate Sheet is at
http://www.movieposterbid.com/auctions/auction_shipping.htmThese new rates have gone up considerably and I ask that you read the page linked above for the new rates. Also, these new rates in all likelihood make it that much more important to you, the buyers, to merge as much auction material as possible to ameliorate your costs. We are happy to offer our Pay & Hold service to all bidders. All we ask is that each week you pay for your auction wins. Your items will be placed on our hold shelf until you ask us to merge them into packaging & give you a shipping quote. This will save you money.
Concerning shipping for material you have already won and the auctions ending tonight.
Auctions from Feb 6th and older have passed the "grace period" and though you may have won these posters when the old rates were in effect, as the grace period has passed, shipping for these items will be charged at the new rate, however, because we were unable to get the new rates until after the Belgian posters were listed and the auctions state the old shipping rate, we are offering - for the Belgian posters in this auction only - to maintain the old rates until Sunday night at 11:59 PM PST. All orders paid after midnight Sunday, the 24th must include the shipping rates on the new sheet. So it is imperative that you get your payment for the current auction wins by Sunday night if you wish to save yourself money. When we do billing tonight, we will include links to both shipping pages with our invoices.
Thanks to everyone for reading
Happy Bidding
