the way it's laid out, I can't imagine that this is anything less than bookmaking and I'm pretty sure the Gaming Board outlawed this in Nevada years ago. I'm totally shocked that the SEC or any other regulatory body would sanction such business on Wall Street

Seems quite ridiculous to me when conceivably box office results could be manipulated by groups of people banding together and either buying or not buying tickets.

Of course these would need to be LARGE groups to show any kind of discernible affect on a 'blockbuster's' box office but maybe for a limited release film it would be somewhat easier.
