Actresses that smoke (in real life)... Turn-off?

I was reading about Kirk Douglas donating money and ran into an article about Catherine Zeta Jones continuing to smoke when Michael was going through throat cancer and so I poked around a bit and it's like they all smoke...  It's funny how you have an idea of a person.  I can't stand a woman that smokes, it is a complete turn-off for me... In addition to Catherine I found these actresses smoke too: Scarlett Johansson, Kirsten Dunst, Natalie Portman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Charlize Theron.  Two of them being my favorites...  Now in the old days people smoked because they didn't know better (wore lead based make-up too), but it would seem now that with all the insight on health issues, smoking would be 'faux pas'...  Quite a disappointing day to learn of this and for some of my most revered girls - it seems to be hidden quite well as I guess they are never holding cigs etc for photo shoots and what not...

It's a turnoff and absolutely vile habit but not a deal killer. I remember reading that five of the six "Friends" smoke and it was very disappointing but I still watched the show.

The prevalence of smoking is one of the reasons I rarely watch older movies.

Personally BOTH of my parents smoke and won't quit so you just have to deal with it.

Personally, i have to say if i was on a date with Scarlett Johansson, Kirsten Dunst or Natalie Portman and they lit one up i would be disgusted.
I would have to insist that they rinse with mouthwash, again.

Never smoked so no idea if it is true, but someone once told me that it curbed their appetite...so I am wondering if in this body image critical industry, it is a way for them to stay trim...

And I would also like to add...the day anyone here has a date with the aforementioned just let me know if smoking suddenly really is an issue. Love conquers all, or in many case with men, the penis rules the heart...(and taste buds)
