These 2 images are actually an interesting study.
The year was 1946.
Karloff last played the role of the Monster, in
Son Of Frankenstein, back in 1939, but here, makeup maestro, Jack Pierce, once again brought the monster to life, for these promotional stills for Samuel Goldwyn film,
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. It is not known if any footage was actually shot of Karloff as the Monster. Goldwyn had to get permission from Universal to use the likeness.
The other gentleman in the first shot is
Mitty director Norman Z. McLeod. In the other, is his wife Evelyn. Karloff was 59 when these pics were taken. With his thinner face, he more closely resembled his appearance in the 1931 original.
