Never heard of Harvey till now.

It's like a 1950's Donnie Darko except this rabbit doesn't get shot in the face.
I will need to watch that.

I will go for:

1. Twelve Monkeys
2. Back To The Future
3. Boyz n' The Hood
4. The Hidden
5. Aliens

The Abyss and T2 could well make it.
I'm a James Cameron fan i guess.

See? Shawshank Redemption. Amazing film. Completely forgot it.
Good call Juli. But Saving Private Ryan? Incredible scenes yes, but overall it doesn't do it for me. But it's your top 5  ;D

Go on, review mine.

5 is an impossible task.

I can give you 25 movies I love off the top of my head, and I could probably add another 75 to make it 100.  Movies as various as The Godfather, Lawrence of Arabia, One From the Heart, Deliverance, Citizen Kane, This Boy's Life, Repulsion, La Strada, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Seven Year Itch...

Anyhow, here's 25.  M is my absolute favorite movie of all time, that I know.  The first 15 minutes of that movie are, IMO, the best ever put on film.  Shadow of a Doubt and Laura are next.  After that, I don't know.

12 Angry Men
The Age of Innocence
Aliens
An American Werewolf in London
The Apartment
Back to the Future
Baisers Volés (Stolen Kisses)
City Lights
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
ET The Extra Terrestrial
The Fearless Vampire Killers
Gone With the Wind
Jaws
Laura
Lolita
M
Ninotchka
Paris Texas
Psycho
Rear Window
Shadow of a Doubt
John Carpenter's The Thing
Titanic
The Shawshank Redemption
The Shining

It sure is. I love many many movies. Plus it always changing. I could give you a different five tomorrow. A top 5 from every decade and genre and they would change too.

The only constants are the Godfathers I & II.

A Top 50 or even 100 would have some tough cuts.

Haven't hear of 'M' till now. Will get ahold of that too.
Top 5 is really hard i know but i liked the movie it came from.

An American Werewolf in London is a classic. I watched it when i was about 8 or 9.
My dad knew people in the rental business so always got new releases early. I was very popular with the other kids back then!

You like Titanic? The love story or the ships?

Yes, I love Titanic and I'm not afraid to say so!

I also love The Age of Innocence more than Taxi Driver or Goodfellas.  And The Apartment more than Some Like It Hot.  And City Lights more than Modern Times.

After Hours is a great one I forgot.  I love After Hours.

Hey I'm not judging. We are all unique.

I'm glad i started this thread. It's unearthing some new films for me to watch.
Most of which i probably would never have seen.

I will watch 'M' and you watch Boyz n' the Hood. We can compare notes.
If you've seen that let me know and i will try another  :)

Dave.

I've seen Boyz n' the Hood.  I also knew John Singleton fairly well at the time.  I went to school with Tim Story and John was his mentor.  John also went to USC.  It was the black connection.

Oh, and Boyz is not my thing.

I'm with T in that my list can't be less than 100, but I will do it differently.  I'm going to wait until you kids burn yourselves out with the modern action adventure stuff and then pick 5 nobody has picked yet that will blow you away if you give them a chance.

Top 5 favorite movies is pretty difficult.

If I had to pick 5:
1.  Dazed and Confused
2.  Pulp Fiction
3.  The Hustler
4.  Dumb and Dumber
5.  The Matrix

VERY hard, as it kinda changes, but these are always there:
Metropolis,
Hell Drivers,
The Wicker Man,

Others I find harder, e.g Argento I want to put one on there but I love too many to choose one and my mood changes.

Likewise  Polanski, depends on my mood, THIS MINUTE I'd say The 9th Gate, biut tomorrow it might be Rosemary's Baby.

Or Kubrick, or Herzog....

So FOR NOW I'll stick with a top 3 only.

Interesting movie that doesnt get much mention at all. There is something just not right about it. Probably why I have the blu.  8)

There's everything JUST right about it to me.
And it gets better every viewing.
So many little clues to see, and think about afterwards. Not the clean neat little package where all is explained to you like your an idiot.
