There are some new Skyfall posters out.  Character things plus a quad in the UK for a semi reclining sort of pose.

Such is my dismay though, that I am not posting them up here for fear I appear to be actually condoning this sort of behaviour.

Film sites and ebay uk have them.

If anyone is interested or thinking about it, the new James Bond, 50 Years of Movie Posters book is a real cracker.

Many many unused poster concepts that I have not seen before.

Superb.

Wouldn't mind going through it in discussion with others on these boards for information and clarification if anyone else already has it.

Simes - is that the DK book that comes with the 'art prints'? Sounds good, do you recommend a purchase then? Is it quite comprehensive?

Speaking of Bond, have you pre-ordered this?

http://www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/film/all/00399/facts.the_james_bond_archives.htm

I have the Kubrick archives and it's absolutely beautiful, so I think this will be equally as impressive. Taschen do make some mighty fine books. WHSmiths seem to have it for a decent pre-order price - http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSearch/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=9783836521055

One and the same sir, yes.

Wholeheartedly recommended.  £22 from Amazon, it really is a steal - a massive great thing that comes in its own card box surround.

As for other books, I haven't ordered any others as yet, there really are just so many coming out this year and I will not be getting all of them - contrary to the poster collecting habits.  However, I wil be looking at the Archives, the Moore retrospective, a Music of Bond and also a Terry O'Neil photo book, the last of which has an exhibition in October in the Chelsea Proud Gallery, London.

I'm definitely going to pick up both the poster book and the archives. Tob, like you I have the Stanley Kubrick book and it's incredible so I have high hopes for the Bond Archives - thanks for the heads up on that pre-order price!

Cheers Simes, you've convinced me...I think I'm going to order it this weekend

Ed, the Kubrick archives is fantastic - I only have the smaller sized edition (what an absolute bargain that is), I stupidly passed on the larger size when it was released due to the price and then it went out of print shortly after I changed my mind. I hope they release the Bergman and Almodovar versions in the smaller size as I can't really justify buying them, but would love to have a good read of them. I think I'll ask wifey for the Bond archive book as an Xmas present.

We need a thread on here for film related books! Or is there one already?

V3 quad is out.  Ugh.  This is the worst poster campaign I can remember... and QOS is a tough one to beat!

That said, I need one if any one can get one  ;)

Absolutely the worst - maybe even the worst in poster history, not just Bond history.  And on the 50th anniversary, with the accompanying film DP'd by Roger Deakins, with a poster book released to offer retrospectives on poster Design.

Terrible.

Rumour abounds that there will be a forth quad that also announces Adele's participation.  Whether this will be a new design or not is unknown.

Breath remains unheld.

The Lying Down 1 sheet version has three versions so far.  October, November November 9.

Third quad is pretty poor...although not any worse than the lying down one I suppose!

For you Bond completists, saw this article yesterday...

Anyone here in London around the time of the Skyfall Premiere?
I know one or two of you definitely are, but is anyone else?

50 YEARS OF JAMES BOND: THE AUCTION (ON LINE)

The Thunderball Door Panels sold today.
With a very low estimate of £6,000 - £8,000, they finally sold for £26,000.

About right in my opinion.
Best wishes,
Adam

I agree in the most part.
The mega rich will have been buying those items because of the charity link, but for the door panels I suspect a well-informed collector rather than a rich chancer will have bought them.

It's a shame that the auction didn't feature more posters.
But then again, there is a 50th Anniversary auction in November albeit not as big.
Best wishes,
Adam
