Here's a link to the actual auctioneers.

Some very cool photos of the car just dumped on the seabed between shots.  Quite comical really.

Why are we so far behind in this country, I asked several storage companies if they have sales like the current T.V. show kind, and it was a NO at every turn.. With them saying.."You've been watching that show on the Tele"...  I guess these companies may have had more than me asking... eyeroll

OT: Somebody on our IT staff thought he was being very clever by imitating the Diamonds Are Forever poster:

"Raw" picture of Nancy Stafford vs. final poster:

So, who was the real model?  Enquiring minds can find the answer here:

Thanks for posting that Mel.

Interesting history to an iconic Bond poster and I had no idea they used a different model's arm on the final design.

Paul.

Interesting that there were varying claims to the legs, isn't it.
Paul, you should read some of the stuff in Cinema Retro, MI6 Magazine and 007 Magazine.
I'm sure Simes will agree there are some very good articles and interviews in these publications.
Best wishes,
Adam

Cheers, Ben, but seriously - can I not post without a nod against Mel for heeby jeebies sake?  hitself
I had already seen this article when I wrote about Bill Gold (and I didn't want to allude to that but now I have lol) hence why I said what I said and also why I said to Paul he should look in those magazines for other interesting pieces whose content is predominantly restricted to print only. There are some genuinely decent articles in them.

Italian vs. US SWLM: From EMP: "Note that a knowledgeable collector pointed out that Bob Peak is the artist for this poster despite the fact that the art is slightly different! Due to the effects of the printing process, the poster art (especially the faces of Moore and Bach) became darker and less distinguishable. Therefore, Peak repainted the images which explains why many European posters (especially Italy) have clearer and more recognizable art!"

Which do you prefer?

Uh dude, the faces are in different positions.  So you are saying these are both peak art?

I find it hard to believe the one on the right is the work of Peak or even that he'd agree to repainting them in the first place. I suspect it may be the work of an Italian artist but am obviously happy to be proven wrong.

Italy variants :

DN (Ryder holding net with shells)

FRWL (007 , Tania & belly dancer)

TB (different face on 007 , he looks ahead instead of to the side , also red jet pack flames instead of orange)

OHMSS (blue ski suit......Germany & France had the same skisuit variants)

LALD (missing black woman and the cop cars painted orange)

TSWLM (different heads on 007 and Anya , I believe only Italy had this variant)

I agree with Ed.
The Italian looks to have been done by another artist entirely.

I think the faded look, if you framed it and had it in the right place with the right lighting could look brilliant ... give you the feel of an older movie, if you know what I mean!?
