Interesting.

I wonder then if I would ever find a set of skis in a Film Poster auction.

I would pick Bond with his smug ass grin and holding a scotch over either of those any day :)

Not at $5k though...

It is not exactly a "rare" poster, as seen at this link:

http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/film_title/ON%2520HER%2520MAJESTY%2527S%2520SECRET%2520SERVICE/type/French%25202p/archive.html

Which once again proves there are always lots of "bargains" at eMoviePoster.com!

Hey fella - this 'bargain' comment maybe referencing me and the wonder at the realised price for the Skyfall IMAX poster in the Mid Auction thread.

I am absolutely sure there are bargains to be had at eMP, and mine was only a wondering based on a very very narrow view (via Bond interests) of the quantity of product you move through the system.

But, I am absolutely sure people are prepared to pay higher prices if assured they will get the packing and service.  I know I am prepared to.  And this will rightly so, drive an increase in bidding.

(However, the IMAX poster sale was just incredible - hats off)

There are high prices and low prices almost every set of auctions. Most often our consignors have LOTS of posters and don't want to just send their best few to one auction, their next best group to another, and be left with a pile of junk that no one wants. We alone take EVERYTHING a consignor has to sell. They just pack everything up and their work is done.

Of course there are others who have plenty of time to basically take a part-time or full-time job and sell their posters one by one, and that is just fine with us!

Thanks for posting that book Mel. Does anybody know how often those panels come up for auction?

I'll answer this in the James Bond thread.  The James Bond door panels are very uncommon but occasionally pop up:

That eBay sale was quite a bargain!  Considering only 1 bid I would guess it was a quickly negotiated BIN price the morning search alerts went out.  Wow.

When I used offaleater as an eBay seller name I got an abusive message saying they would never buy from anyone with such a disgusting username.
Yeah well maybe they wouldn't also like the cannibal, zombie, necrophile, etc etc type stuff I had for sale....

There's a chance that the combo of username + nasty stuff was what triggered them to write you  ;D

Even worse. I believe that was his purposeful reaction when his name was read during this year's Golden Globes for Best Director. :-\

Interesting read of past posts.
I've only completed a little collecting recently so it's great to see some good pieces flying around.
Best wishes,
Adam
