I was just perusing the front and back covers of the GOLDFINGER British pressbook on EMP and noticed something. There are 2 quads shown, the golden girl version which we all know and the hand version. The hand quad shown in the pressbook has the full credits but the hand quad that pops up has the altered credits with "as James Bond OO7" deleted. Was the full credits version something done for the pressbook and was never made at all? Or is it one of those "rarer than hens teeth" posters that never pops up? I personally have never seen this version in the flesh and doubt it was ever printed but perhaps one of our elite British collectors knows for sure. Calling Simon...........

Oh dear.  To be sure I am British, and a collector to boot.

But the word 'elite' has ways of tripping you up when you least suspect.

Very well spotted but veracity dictates I should say I neither noticed nor do I know of any credit variations of the Gf quad(s).

Interesting though.  Have you trawled through auction archives per chance?  If yes, I will not bother to undertake.

No, Bruce offered up the pressbook within the past few weeks so it was easy to find. No trawling involved. I suspect it doesn't exist in the form shown on the pressbook, but wanted to run it by country of origin collectors who may have some insight I may not have. Like the early Bond sixteen sheets that never turn up; they were made but good luck finding one. It's just curious that UA would picture it that way when then be altered when printed.

Thanks for that Mel.

Grief. Never heard of the chap, nor of any rumblings of courtship, but others’ praise on other forums is indicative of huge expectation.

1st US director too. Finally, this wall has been broken… I always understood the sensibility behind the UK or Colonial directors, but to mitigate US directors was like mitigating an actor for portraying a killer - if he has never actually killed someone before. For my part, US directors might possibly do away with some of the stiffness of the Bond films.

Yea, very cool box art, Sundance!  I kinda want to see the doll, though it'll probably freak me out.  Was the doll bad to start with and/or has it aged badly?  Okie

https://www.thunderballs.org/

Just ran across this website. I haven't had the chance to really dig into it yet, but it has large amounts of scenes, behind the scenes shots, promo items and posters broken down film by film up to SPECTRE. The poster section is good, but from what I looked at so far, nothing different than the norm.

What's this?

https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/aldridges-of-bath/catalogue-id-srald10089/lot-46eda4d7-52ec-40c9-8a65-aa0800ce30a9

The chap says it is 28 3/4 by 41 !!

It looks like one of those 80's copies but the fact it has the Printed by credits at bottom surprise me.  And the 80's copies were all roughly 28x36, I thought.

Any help...  Thank you.

Ah! Yes, of course.

Thank you for that.  Spot on.

Wonder why they 'reproduced' it without the blue top border?

The DAF quad was reprinted at the same time as the other 80's reprints. Why it's larger than the rest is a question.

Thanks all.

The auction chap came back to me later in the day and also suggested it wasn't an original.

Best.

original sold at emp yesterday
that blue top looks weird to me. was it meant to have a snipe for a cinema? if not then i prefer the repro for aesthetic reasons!

That one had had two snipes.

One to cover the Soundtrack information, and the other to cover the second of the two 'A's for the certification.  The second of the two had been removed to show the A.

As for the blue, always there.  No idea why the repro did away with while at the same time maintaining the printer's credit.

This book, the top one, is utterly superb.

All in German, by Thomas Nixdorf of other Bond poster printed and online fame, this is chock full of Bond goodness as a companion piece to a Bond poster exhibition he put on in Germany.

I have a copy and I cannot recommend enough.

Anyone ever seen this?

Listed as a 40x60, but with an original 1 sheet pasted on to it and then painted around.

This lot went for $35.  Someone did well.
