There are certainly some near "terrible" films that fit into the noir area.  But in my opinion nearly all of them still have quite a few redeeming qualities.

That fact their associated posters are sometimes sublime only adds to the allure :)

yeah, damn I would have thought about having a go at that.  Daphne du Maurier is my favourite writer (sitting in even place with Heinlein and Poe)
