Supposedly 10 were printed, one survives....

Which are you commenting on?

The re-release had an ever rarer mylar version, along with the regular one sheet (as shown obviously).

That black one is a mock up that Hargon re-created based on a Toy Fair show pic from 1997... He went on (and on and on) about this project on MPT, where he first posted this picture.

Here is the cropped and crappy image that made the rounds back then...  The original probably has more in common with those HP7II advances, in that it was likely a trade show one-off...

Anyone who doesn't want the free books just mention that and we note your account and you won't hear any more about it.

We are really close to being completely out of the free ones anyway. I have a few of each I saved for retail sales, but there won't be any more free ones soon.

They do make unique gifts for friends who are movie buffs and they might create some more collectors!

I still have some of them distributed to books stores and they continue to sell pretty well, even 10 to 20 years after they were first published.

Am I the only one on here that's never received one of Bruce's free books (that actually buys from Bruce)?

Though, I did receive the AA Best Picture Winners book as a gift in the late '90s...

No I don't own these Superman posters (and I would never hang cheesy mylar bumper stickers)!

I picked up the "supposed" info and those pics from this thread on another forum posted three years ago. Further down the thread it says that the lower image is the original and the poster in the upper left is a repro and that the original was designed by conceptual illustrator Sylvain Despretz.

Cheers brude, although she knows about it, it's Mrs AP's birthday present from Mr Cheapskate here ;D

Having looked at the high resolution photo I can't work out how it's printed, offset or screen printed!?

Anyways, back to film posters, sorry for the digression!

Never apologize for posting Alphonse Mucha.
Never.

So someone was trying to re-create the recreation?  Awesome...

The key difference between the original pic and Hargon's recreation is the bottom-left of the 'S' (original has a printed black shadow on the last curve).  As for the printing numbers, I don't recall him mentioning it, but, considering that he clearly has some 'in' with WB (since he was the original source of the HP3 lenticular info and it's pretty much the only studio he sells posters from on eBay), it may well be accurate...

Whoever posted on that thread pulled the images and info from Hargon's website - don't know if that is still around.

BTW Erik, I am one of the Jasons... so is Hargon, I believe...

Lionsgate just auctioned three signed Hunger Games posters for huge bucks for a good cause:

If it is indeed Lionsgate, and not some doofus who can't even spell Elizabeth Glaser and uses the same poster 3 times, then it is definitely worthy.

Sorry, I just don't trust anyone and I know crooks will go a long way to make $$$.

I too am very skeptical about anything like this, and have to say that they did a very....plain?....cheap?....shady?...job on the description. Most similar auction for a cause listings have a TON of information and details about the cause, etc. This one is nothing but some text.

eBay ID history seems legit though:
User ID       Effective Date       End Date
   lionsgatefilms       Apr-24-08       Present

But I am slightly suspicious about their feedback history. The account has been used to BUY a lot of stuff, including
http://www.ebay.com/itm/220924839008

Why would LIONS GATE FILMS buy "The Hunger Games -81 pg-77 Day Shoot Schedule: Day 11 to 77 & Cast Call Sheets"

Shouldn't they already have a copy? Or two? Or two hundred?

They only seem to sell posters though....

I agree that something seems amiss.

Enki, I can't believe you did all that dopey analysis.

Umm, maybe you should have checked the official Facebook page....

That's almost as brilliant as Jeff "x-raying" the obvious fake Goldfinger poster I posted a while back, which he's now conveniently deleted by the way.

And Thierry kinda surprised you went down that road too...

Simple answer - contact the charity and ask them, unfounded speculation is no way to go when it comes to this sort of thing:

OK, so based on the Facebook page, I guess it is legit.

But that doesn't mean everything I mentioned earlier isn't still true.

Just because it is legit doesn't mean their auctions look any less crappy, and them bidding on their own movie memorabilia any less weird.

I think you ought to admit you went OTT on MPF . . . come on, grab some of that credibility back man!!

I have nothing against you mate, but bugger, that JOKE must really have ticked you off!"

I do not trust anyone, period.  Thieves everywhere.

Besides, If Lionsgate really believes in the late Elizabeth Glaser's awesome foundation (and her equally awesome husband), maybe they should give a chunk of the enormous profit they will make out of The Hunger Games, instead of pennies from posters.  I guess when it comes to charity, Feltheimer and Burns' bonuses are what really matters
