This auction literally just ended for a french one panel for the EYES WITHOUT A FACE. In the description, the seller states that the dimensions are 44.5" x 61.5". Can there be this much leeway, form the traditional measurement of 47x63 inches? Almost 3 inches difference on the width and 2.5" on the length seems a bit much. (Unless the seller measured incorrectly).

It does look right. my thinking is that the seller may have measured it incorrectly? But he was so precise, down to the half inch, it made me wonder.. eyeroll

I bid on it and was 10 bucks short of final price. Not like me to miss out as I usually get all in my path but I am skint at the mo... Normal size is 63 x47 and as Thierry knows this size is a Thierry hates "French Grande" not a Double Grande, so the seller likely doesn't know what size to expect when measuring so a bit smaller I guess because of this and measuring it not properly flat.

Sellers description:
It measures a whopping 44.5" x 61.5" and is considered to be a double grande poster.

A lot of classics in that lineup of French one panels on your site, Rich, and most appear to be in great condition.

I was suprised about his rolled style D NSS Star Wars as well.... only like $225 or something.  Crazy.  Maybe the economy has finally caught up with all but the diehards and/or 1%-ers?

At Christies London yesterday the hammer price on a Jungle Book one sheet was £2500 ($3930)  - prices are always crazy on this poster there but this goes off the scale. With 30% commission/VAT the buyer pays £3250 ($5100).

That's definitely pretty high, especially since there was that stash of trifolds found making them show up at auction rather frequently.  A lot of times, I think Christie's draws non-collectors who just want one poster for some reason.  They know and care little about market prices.

That Christie's auction was a strange one.  Folks seemed to be passing on the quality items right and left, (no doubt too high reserves), but gobbling up the common-as-dirt crap.  B&W "Mean Streets", $1600, "Raging Bull" advance, $1200.  Granted, the exchange rate is doing wonders for the dollar value, but still...

I couldn't dare mention this before (for fear of being accused of promoting myself) but do ANY of you Bond experts have anything on this obscure Bond show?

I told one of the auction team in person about the poster's dubious origins but as usual they don't care.

Wow, with some of the prices realized at Bruce's "stills" auction, it might be time for me to downsize my collection!

Lot of good stuff sold today at EMP.  I didn't get anything - everything I wanted sold relatively high. I really liked this "My Best Friend The Devil" (1922 US 3S) which went for $1055:

And on the "other end" of the quality scale, I liked this trampy cool "Lousiana Hussy" (1959 1S):

Mel, you have to stick around in time-extended auctions. That first poster actually went for $1,371, because it was extended!

I think I understand why lawyers would find that poster so appealing!

and yu need to stick around so that when fantasycool bids me up with 10 seconds to go (extending the auction) that I'm there to come back and win the poster I wanted.
