I was the underbidder in this insert for the Capra & Litvak propaganda film. Just two bidders, and a final result of $81.
I supposed there was going to be more interested bidders. I was wrong

Matias, alot of those Nazi posters which were fairly popular for a long time are becoming less so because we can't display them. so aside from people aging out, the market is decreasing anyway

interesting side note
this film was narrated by Walter Houston and was cited as a proof that he was a socialist at the beginnings of the Hollywood Red Scare

Rich, you mean there's actually a regulation against posters, etc with nazi symbology? Even one like this, that is clearly anti-nazi?

I was watching that. I could not believe what it sold for. Just crazy for a video poster.

I'm a bit of a skeptic about these cards.  I've seen the press sheet for Uni's release of those two films and don't remember any lobby cards being available.  Don't quote me as it's been awhile.
I'll raise a glass to the illusion but drink to the reality.

They look more like repros. What indication is there that they were created for theater use?

A set of these same 2 cards sold on HA, last May (a Sun nite auction), for $36.00, inc the BP.

They are like some hypnotic set of print dots, when you look at the CU images - very similar to photos printed in newspapers. Only from a distance do the images come together and work.
