Summer 2011
« on: April 06, 2011, 05:25:58 PM »
I added director and cast to some movies you may not be aware of.  The rest, I believe, is self explanatory.

I seriously don't see a single movie on that list that will motivate me to go to the theaters this summer.  No wonder why attendance is down and ticket prices are up...

(Not in any particular order)
-Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
-Cowboys and Aliens
-Bridesmaids
-Super 8
-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 2

I only did 3.

Super 8 for sure, although if its good I see it as a bonus.

Cowboys and Aliens, if Ford has any emotion left to be seen.

Winnie the Pooh, my daughter will love it.

I would add, however, that like Harry says, these aren't exactly enticing.

Outside of treating my daughter to Pooh, I could see any of my three next year on BluRay or Netflix or never...all the same to me.

A friend saw 20 minutes of Super 8 at ShoWest and said that it looked awesome.

It's the only one I look forward to...

MAYBE Spy Kids 4, I liked the other 3 and I like 3D. But its a big maybe, too damned expensive to go to theatres.

Only Cowboys & Aliens.  Until Franco's Oscars debacle, I might have had interest in Rise of the Apes.

Whoops, how did Tree of Life not get on that list?

More importantly, how did I forgot that one, I want to see this film like yesterday.

Maybe I should have said: Major releases.  The Tree of Life is only limited, as of now.  It might expend following its limited run, but not as of today.

I picked 8, but it only lets you choose 5. Mind I will only be watching on dvd, Theres nothing that would get me to the cinema, which is really sad. :(

Ok, so this list is more for wide release/potential blockbusters then...

Potential blockbusters, no.

Ok.  Then maybe we need a list of potentially good summer films too.  ;)

Just kidding (kinda). I really am stoked about Super 8!
