2011: Natalie Portman's year
« on: January 07, 2011, 12:15:54 AM »
So it's quite obvious the girl is going to win her first Golden Globe and Academy Award for best actress.  Black Swan is a great movie, and she's amazing in it.

But then 3 movies follow:

No Strings Attached: Okay, Reitman is directing, comedy is his forte, but Kutcher???  I don't know.
Your Highness: She's almost naked and the tagline reads: "From the director of Pineapple Express."  Who's that?  Nuf' said.
Thor: Academy Award winner/Thor/Academy Award winner/Thor...  Follow my drift?

I don't know, but it looks to me she's already working on her best actress curse: Paltrow, Roberts, Berry, Bullock, Witherspoon, Theron, Winslet, Kidman, Hunt and so many others.  Best actress and bye bye.

She's a little young, though.

Thoughts?

My only thoughts are: yes she's beautiful and yes she was terrible in the prequels (but Lucas' fault most likely)

Totally agree Zorba.
I also think, that back when George Lucas was writng these scripts..as much as a visionary as he thinks he is,i cant help but feel there was no way he imagined the final showdown between Anakin and Ben Kenobi to be akin to a Playstation3 game...all that floating about on ever decreasing rocks/circles..complete cash in sh*t.

Natalie Portman’s dancing double fοr “Black Swan,” Sarah Lane, tοƖԁ “Entertainment Weekly” thаt thе public hаѕ bееn mislead аbουt Portman’s dancing іn thе film. “Of thе full body shots, I wουƖԁ ѕау 5 percent аrе Natalie… I mean, frοm a professional dancer’s standpoint, ѕhе doesn’t look Ɩіkе a professional ballet dancer аt аƖƖ аnԁ ѕhе саn’t dance іn pointe shoes. Anԁ ѕhе саn’t ɡο hеr body; ѕhе′s very stiff.”

If that's true, should Portman have won the Oscar?

Yes, the Oscars are for acting, and she did act.  She did dance too, even if not as much as previously thought... but this is not Dancing with the Stars.
