I have purchased quite a few posters since my last post, but I've been doing a terrible job at keeping my purchase archive updated and sharing on here.
One that I feel I must share though is - I got my very first linenbacked poster. It's the original Thierry hates "French Grande" for Marilyn Monroe's 1954 film "River Of No Return". It's my favorite movie by Marilyn so I just had to get a poster for it. Unfortunately the original US releases are out of my price range for now (not planning on spending $500+ on ANY poster right now) but I managed to get this one at quite a steal compared to what it's going for.
It's beautifully restored - you really can't see any flaws unless you're looking very closely for those original fold lines.
I have to say though...that I'm not really a fan of linenbacking now that I've got my hands on one. I guess I feel it kind of...takes away from the original poster in a way? I mean, to me, it doesn't feel like it's truly an "original" anymore.
Other than that I am very excited about eventually getting it framed and displayed.
It's the oldest poster I own for now. I'm keeping my eye out for posters of some of my favorite classic films - some of which are surprisingly affordable. I probably won't start actively buying again for some time though.
