From a recent episode of Collector's Call on MeTV it was noted that a tax stamp on a foreign poster makes the poster more valuable than one that does not have the stamp, all else being equal. I was surprised by that statement. Is that a generally accepted rule of thumb?
About 2 weeks ago I bought a Belgian poster of "Pushover" that has a tax stamp on it. I actually like the stamp but when buying it had no idea of any significance to it. I do not plan to sell the poster any time soon, but interesting to note that the stamp may not be viewed as a defect.
