I think that’s a very low price for that ET poster.  I bought the one above because the price was to good, even though I already own a few.  I just like good deals, but then you end up with 5 copies of the same poster for no reason.

Your framed gallery and collection are shaping up nicely.  The Astounding She Monster 40x60 and 3 sheet there are exceptional.  Are those on permanent display?  When are you really stepping up to the "elite" level and acquiring a flat file cabinet?

Thx! Long-term rotate status. I "only" have 300 MPs so will exceptionally stupidly keep them on floor! Doh.gif

Maybe the only surviving original:

A Woman Commands (RKO, 1932). One Sheet (27" X 41") Style A.
This was international silent screen star Pola Negri's first American talkie, in which she plays a noblewoman ordered to marry the Serbian King Alexander (Roland Young). Her heart really belongs to a gallant army captain (Basil Rathbone), seen on this poster, but she goes through with her arranged marriage. Although the picture was a box office flop, the posters from the film are very rare and beautiful. Professional restoration has addressed slight paper loss at the lower crossfold, a tear in the top left corner, and a misfold at the bottom. The linen has been trimmed to the border. Fine+ on Linen.

Hi Sundance, I took notice of that Pola Negri poster as well in the catalog. Shall if now reside at Mel's place?  Okie

Funny pic! My wedding gift to my cuz (left) and his new bride. (Partly obscured of course). My advice for gifting MPs: (1) Send images of potential MPs, (2) have the chosen MP restored (nobody likes folds), and (3) explain that classic-era MP originals are rare (they had ZERO clue this was rare).

I have to congratulate you for your kindness, Mel.  You’ve given away quite a few posters over the years, to forum members too.  You’re a very generous fellow, even if I’m no fan of the poster you just posted.  Hopefully the no-eye-folks are.

Cool photo and present there, Sundance.  Your cousin looks like he's about 7 feet tall, eh?  It would be funny to see his wife carrying him like in the mp.   girly.gif

What made you decide on this Marry Me Again one sheet to gift?

Looks like your free time could be profitable to you in poster design, Sunnydance!  Your new poster designer name is "Sunnydance".  Okie

So my 29yo cousin's favorite movie is "It Happened One Night" (1934). I have B+ Photoshop skills, so I created a custom 30"x40" poster for her and sent it to a local print shop, since original MPs are extremely rare and expensive. [Frame from www.hollywoodposterframes.com, MP image from www.ha.com, photo images from www.doctormacro.com]

Bad pic, but 30x40" framed:

A similar image and what it really looks like:

Thx, but here's a more skilled creation by someone better - notice the excellent fake fold lines (although should be 2 horizontals):

Mel, you could easily do that from the source photo. And maybe do a photoshop fold effect

Too lazy to flatten folded MPs nowadays but I can tolerate the view:
