Wow! Hot month for posters--figuratively and literally!
Teamweapon: I am in LOVE with that German NEON DEMON.
Paul: nice batch---particularly THE LAST SUNSET and FANTASTIC BEASTS. OOooo...
Deke: Cool poster...but instead of Michael Jackson, it looks like an outtake from GONE WITH THE WIND where an uber-jealous and crazed Scarlett is biting Olivia De Havilland's face over her insane obsession with Ashley Wilkes.
Baseman: I dig the PULP FICTION set. I've not seen those before I don't think.... Groovy.
Here are a few from my recent post--which i usually do one the 1st and 15th...but I'm late a day. Nothing too exciting. Here's a small sample of some of the schlock:
STAR CRYSTAL:
This just SCREAMS crap-a-rama "ALIEN" ripoff. I've never seen it or heard of it. I hope it's wonderful in a bad movie kind of way (instead of just tediously boring and lame). Cool cheesy poster none the less...
1990: THE BRONX WARRIORS:
Speaking of ripoffs, here's a great MAD MAX/ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK hybrid clone. Fun poster. I never saw the flick, but it looks like a potential grindhouse classic.
DRIVE IN:
While NOT a ripoff, the on-screen movie in the regional 70s comedy DRIVE IN spoofs the disaster movies of the era in a(brilliant) fictional film called "DISASTER '76" (My favorite part of the movie. I wonder if there were fake posters made for it--I don't remember as it's been years since I saw the movie--but if they did make them, I wonder where they are now? I'd LOVE one).
Keep 'em coming. August is only HALF over.
CHEERS!
