My small, yet growing collection
« on: October 17, 2015, 10:44:11 PM »
Well here's my small collection(I haven't been collecting that long, maybe six months or so), not all that impressive but I love them. Here are some of the ones I have framed
P.S The variation in photography is because I chose to use the photos provided by the dealers if I thought they were better than what I could get. Also my apologies for my bad photography(poor lighting, etc.).

Suspiria Japanese B2 style B

Man I love this poster, definitely one my favorites in my collection. Fantastic poster for a fantastic movie. I like this rarer art more than the more common one but I love both and I hope to get the other style soon as well.

Suspiria first edition locandina

Sort of underwhelming poster art, especially compared to the Japanese versions, still I like having it. Also I really don't see many of the first editions in circulation, mostly the second editions(no "anno di edizione 1977" at the bottom)

Suspiria fotobusta

This fotobusta is pretty beat up, but I still like it.

Dellamorte Dellamore first edition locandina

Unfortunately a case of a great movie, with kind of an underwhelming poster. This movie is one of my favorites, so I was bit sad to see the poster art wasn't that interesting. Still I like it and I'm happy to have it in my collection.

The House that Screamed one sheet

The first and only time I have ever bought a poster for a movie I haven't actually watched, I just loved the art so much. I have the movie now, I just haven't gotten to it yet. From the summary though I have a feeling I'll love it.

Cat o' Nine Tails one sheet

Good movie. I really prefer the italian poster art better but I got this poster for around 8 bucks so I couldn't say no.

Four Flies on Grey Velvet locandina(second edition/alternate version/mystery???)

I love this movie and this poster. As you can tell it differs from the original in that this one has green text instead of yellow(which I like the green more personally). I've talked to few different Italian poster collectors and this poster is a bit of an oddity. There's only been a few others in circulation that they've seen, they think it's either just some rare alternate version of some kind or a limited second edition that kept the same artwork. If anyone has more solid info feel free to let me know.

All the Colors of the Dark fotobusta

Great movie, it's a trip. To be honest though the main reason I bought this is cause it prominently features Edwige Fenech  ;D

Don't Torture a Duckling locandina

One of my favorites by Fulci, alongside The Psychic. Sure he's more known for his innovative gore flicks but he crafted some of the finest gialli in my opinion. This artwork just screams 1970s to me, which I love.

The Psychic locandina

Like I said above, another of my favorites by Fulci. The atmosphere he sets in this one really gets at me, so eerie. I like the poster too of course.

Tenebre Japanese B2

Great movie, I like this japanese art but this is one of the times I prefer the original Italian art more.

Phenomena Japanese B2

One of my favorite movies, and I love this Japanese art.

Phenomena fotobusta

Like I said one of my favorite movies, and I think this is my favorite fotobusta out of the set. I'd love to have the whole set though.

Blood and Black Lace one sheet

Good movie, good poster. Not much more to say about this one.

Trauma locandina

Really not that great of a movie and a pretty boring poster. But hey it was part of a combo deal, I think in the end it probably costed around 3 euros.

Revanche German A1

I love this movie and this poster. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it if you think it might be your thing.

The White Ribbon German A1

This movie is phenomenal, Haneke's best in my opinion.

The House by the Cemetery 2p

Good movie, and a great poster. I got this pretty cheap too considering what they normally go for.

Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key 2p

What can I say, I love this poster as much as I love the movie. One of the best of the genre in my opinion.

Sister Belgian poster

I love this movie, and the poster captures the mood of the movie quite well too.

Well I think that's it for now, but I have a few more in the mail right now  :)

Wow!  You have some amazing things there...and it's obvious you love the Italian horror/giallo films. Awesome!  You have many more of the Italian posters than I do (I really dig the "House By The Cemetery"--much nicer than the US), but that Japanese SUSPIRIA was fantastic. We seem to like a lot of the same stuff, so i am super duper happy to have you on board and look forward to seeing more postings by you. Great start! Bravo! And welcome once again!

good taste, I am an Argento/Bava/Fulci fan, as well as Giallos and Italian exploitation.
I like the *YOR VICE best of these, really nice.

Edit, must be subconsciously mis-spelling because i also love YOR!

My first locandina (I have to keep checking the spelling still)? It's nothing you'd be interested in. It's for "Barracuda", a "Jaws" ripoff. I'll post it soon.

Hey pal, I see you've been hitting the boards tonight. Good for you. I was kind of nervous when i first joined, but as I posted on the boards and got to know some of the people on here, I felt more and more comfortable. (I've only been here since January.)

Don't be bashful and visit often...AND post photos of any new stuff that comes your way when you can.

Again--welcome!

Thats all that matters, right? As long as we love what we are collecting plus being able to share it here with others that might enjoy seeing new stuff, makes it all very fun. I so agree with you. Looking fwd to the pics, too!!  happy1

About time for a little update, I'm probably going to be slowing my buying rate even more as I'm in the process of buying some property and money is very tight. Anyway here we go:

Suspiria Japanese B2 style A

Finally got both of the Japanese B2 styles for Suspiria  happy1

Phenomena Japanese B2 style A

Finally got both of the Japanese B2 styles for Phenomena as well  happy1

Phantasm Japanese B2 style...B(?)

I love this movie and this poster. I love the entire Phantasm series, looking forward to the new one! There's another Japanese style for this poster which I hope to get but I prefer this style.

Deep Red locandina

Finally got one of these! They're quite expensive on ebay and alot of them are in pretty bad condition, so when I saw one of these go for sub $100 in this great of condition I jumped on it.

The Bird with the Crystal Plumage locandina

Great movie and excellent poster. I've wanted one of these for awhile and I'm glad I finally got one. Quite striking art, especially for the time. This makes only 4 other locandinas I need to get for completing my Dario Argento locandina collection(the locandinas worth collecting that is).

A Blade in the Dark locandina

I really loved this movie, it blew me away. Lamberto Bava should've done more gialli like this. This is definitely one of the ones I would show to the people that like to say there wasn't any good gialli in the 80s.

Let Sleeping Corpses Die(and a hundred other titles) locandina

Good movie with an equally as great locandina.

The Bird with the Crystal Plumage Spanish one sheet

I like this art by Jano, I don't like many Spanish posters but this one and the next one are two great ones I think. And they were cheap so it's a win win.

All the Colors of the Dark Spanish one sheet

Same as above, this is one of my favorite posters by Jano if not my favorite.

Well that's it for now.

Oh my stars!  Wow! Wow! WOW!!!  I am on the train home from my week or so away. I was going tom stay "gone" until at least tomorrow, but then i got the notice about your new posting. I had to take a peek...and was stunned by your amazing haul. Yowza! You have some real beauties there.

The Japanese SUSPIRIA is nice, but I really dig the PHENOMENA! OOoooo...and that PHANTASM is gorgeous!

The others are also very nice (you may see something similar on one of my posts very soon), but those last two posters you posted---THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE and ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK were also high up on my dig-o-meter! Zowie!

BRAVO, e. You've really done well.

Thanks, it means alot coming from you! Yes, I'm quite partial to the Phenomena as well, I really love it and it's a nice feeling to now have both Japanese styles. Eager to see what you post next, especially this similar item you speak of! Glad you dig the Spanish posters and other posters as well. Thanks again!

That was a fast response (thanks for quoting me. I found a typo in my original text and went back and fixed it. Hee hee.)

Yes, your posters are fab. The "similar" poster I refer to will be a post or two out. But you'll see once again that we have amazingly similar tastes. Cheers!
