Favorite Purchases of 2012
« on: December 13, 2012, 12:05:05 AM »
The year is ending...  It's time to show off your gear.  I bought just about 1,200 posters in 2012, from Justin Bieber to my mega rare French Gone With the Wind.  In no particular order, here are my favs.  Not necessarily the most expensive (although there are some expensive pieces), just the ones that mean the most to me.

SHOW US YOURS!!!

Once your done with the Bus Stop lobbies, just send them over to my place. ;)

You've got a film poster that was never meant to be. Quite rare. The film/episodes released only in Germany in 1967, so they say. Nice one T.

1200 posters for 2012?
Jeezum crow, T... Does this achievement fulfill some sort of Mayan prophecy?

After 5+ years of collecting I still only own like 500 (ish) posters.  1200 in one year is crazy.  You need help.  You should try to get some distance from your obsession.  Feel free to send me any of the above for safe keeping  ;D

Seriously though, this thread should probably be where all the APF members pick out our favorites from your best purchases.  It's so awesome to see them all tiled up like that.  I appreciate your website, but you need to post you acquisitions on APF more often!

Let me dig through my purchases to see what I ended up with this year...

Nice Ballesters T!

Here's my favourites (or favorites ;))

Jaws of the jungle

Unknown film from the 30s

Original watercolor by Osvaldo Venturi

Insert signed for me by Isabel Sarli

Native Son quad. Only one I have ever seen, survived several years hanged in a pub in Holland. Nice.

No Invisible Man?  Man this may take a while.  I've already forgotten what I bought; 2011 and 2012 just blur...

I pondered for weeks on that Dance of the Vampire, still I'm glad it went to a good home.

Some very nice Italian Bardot's up there.  Some of those I plan to go for next year.  I'm going to wait a little longer to post a few of my favorites because the ones that will top my list haven't arrived yet.  I finally bought the #1 poster on my want list yesterday, and #2 may me mine next week.  I would like to petition that Paul Waines post some stuff though, I always get enjoyment out of seeing what he's found at least post your Top 10, Paul  :P...

I like posting some of my gear once a year.  There is obviously much more stuff than the few posters I posted above, but the rest can be seen on my site, which is also the main reason why I don't post my new acquisitions.  1) At the rate I'm going, it would be like 3 or 4 posters a day, and 2) I personally find it a bit flashy.  I understand that there wouldn't be a forum if people did not post their gear, but it's just not my thing.  Once a year is perfect.  And my website for the new stuff.

Chris is odd but he isn't a bodgy

According to the Australian slang dictionary (who knew there was such a thing?!) http://www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html

Bodgy = of inferior quality

So for those paying attention this means I would share my last Rolo with Ari but definitely not Aussie Matt

Great stuff T. You are sick. I only wish I could be as sick as you are.  8)

Matias and Mel not too shabby either. Excellent year.

I will need a few drinks over a weekend for the courage to post my 2012 stuff after you guys are all done.

Some nice stuff there, guys.  Keep 'em coming.

Charlie, I really like the fact that you collect by actors.  You will end up with great Taylor, Portman and Kelly's collections.  Although I might give you a run for your money on the Kelly front.

Here's something I recently got...
