When I worked at Universal, I should have wandered over to the prop dept and asked if I could wander (with a photo in hand of that item). Im sure they would have obliged.

I did that on several occasions when Stage 28 (the Phantom stage) was still standing, and got to explore it all to my heart's content. That was a thrill to remember, too.

Dang, erik1925!!!!   You were living the dream wandering around the Phantom set.  Would enjoy hearing those stories over drinks someday.

Gotta wonder what was being sipped on (or smoked  potroll.gif) when the imagery for this 50's RR UK quad for Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man was selected.

I'd love to know how these images were picked in the first place. Using Glenn Strange's incarnation of the Monster and Mr Hyde from Abbott & Costello Meet Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde?

(But at least one monster is right -- a Frankie).   ;D

That poster is early 60's Jeff, not 50's..

Makes more sense, then, Paul. Likely the art dept was enjoying a nice tot and puff, when those pics were pulled and chosen for the poster.

(Either that, or as is more likely the case, those creating this poster hadn't a clue). ;)

It makes for an interesting scenario. On the one hand it's a 60s RR quad for Frank Meets the Wolf Man. But with the incorrect images, one would have a time reconciling those with the title.

In one way, it makes for an curious poster.

And a similar image faux pas was done on a Belgian RR for Frankenstein, when they also used a Glenn Strange image of the Monster front and center.

The Belgian poster image also looks a bit like Tim Curry to me!!

Tho not produced at Universal, this MGM flicker with Bela Lugosi, Lionel Atwill and Lionel Barrymore & directed by Tod Browning, certainly deserves a place of its own, too.   :)

The Invisible Ray was released 83 years ago on this date in 1936!  I've had in my hands two different copies of this 1946 French affiche size poster, and I've seen a not so good image of what looked to maybe be a third copy.  This copy pictured looked to me by far to be in the best condition.  It's on linen, though with no restoration.  I was really glad to get it in Bruce's auction about a year ago.  Happy Birthday to The Invisible Ray and Karloff's hair perm!  Okie

I think there is still about 3 weeks to save for it.
I know it's mid 30s and not 32, but I think the estimate is very aggressive. we will see.

I think perhaps 80+ percent too aggressive on the low estimate? Though surprises abound, eh Crow?   I was hoping Chris had snagged it.  Okie

Thanks, Matias!  I really enjoyed finding the top portion of this poster and having it restored.  How are you doing down south?  Okie

Also, looking for the small bottom sheet for this Son of Dracula six sheet. This photo is taking up most of our king size bed.  Best, Okie
