You may think that is a fridge in a kitchen, but to the wealthy, this is what they refer to as a bar fridge.

And that microwave is to warm up their pretzels

yes.. even my small fridge here at the office has it's bar inside..

Yeah, looks like an office rather than a dungeon

I'm sure you are welcome if you offer to help put together the next auction and also to dump the 14" crt monitors. Rich may then sit down and have a Earl Grey with you.  :D

I know these arent "legit" Universal horror posters, per se, but these (they were auctioned in HA's July 2015 Sig auction), along with the 3 banners that were auctioned this past Sat, (also by HA), are fantastic, IMHO. Done by artist, Arthur K Miller.

He has created a modern, yet vintage look and I think these are just superb.  clap clap

The Bride of Frankenstein by Arthur K. Miller (2013). Original Artwork; 2 Cloth Banners (24.5" X 49").   bed1 bed1

I wanted to show this detail closeup of Karloff from the above shown The Raven '48RR 3-sheet. More just to show the layer of added colors that Realart's art dept decided to do for this re-release material (as well as to the OS and insert). I think what they did works pretty well, overall.

for comparison to the 3sh

too bad someone used black marker on the back for Karloff's hair

sorry for all the reflection stuff

Nice comparison, Rich.

To see, too, how the photographic elements were manipulated, on each poster.

I think the 1 sheet is better. on the 3sh you can't see the pendulum, so it looks like Bela is threatening the victim with more Bela

I noticed that, too... and wondered why they decided to put the pendulum in the upper left corner, by itself like that.  dontknow.gif

In either case, I think both layouts still work well.

As a side note, I'm not as big a fan of Karloff's (or any of the) "floating, severed heads" imagery on OS.

Collector Todd Feiertag posted these to MOPO on Tuesday (and both are for sale, too).

Two LC from 2 of Universal's horror cycle hey day from the 1930's. Both look to be in really nice shape, and frankly are quite the lookers (and both have a nice price tag, to boot!)  ;D

First is from Frankenstein (1931). Todd refers to it as the "Creation" card. (Price -- $12,000.00 USD)

The Black Cat (1934). According to Todd, this is one of only 2 scene cards that feature both Lugosi and Karloff. (Price -- $15,000.00 USD)

Tis neither.  ;D

Per Todd:

"The small blue line and the red line are in the printing.  I've seen this on some other cards from THE BLACK CAT."

So that would be a light touch up job, if someone wanted them covered over or at least diminished.

So the card being sold is a photocopy of the real thing?!
