Test footage made by Ray Harryhausen in the late 1940s, as well as production drawings he did, when RH was considered for a film version of WAR OF THE WORLDS.

His alien looks like a combo of and octopus with an alternate face that later resembled another of his classic creations, the Ymir.

Incredible Martian stop motion by Harryhausen, Jeff!  It was so great that early SF fans like him, who became pros, were so accessible to later fans.  What a great example to fandom he was along with guys like Ray Bradbury, Uncle Forry Ackerman, and Julie Schwartz.

A publicity photo... but great shots of Peter Lorre, Karloff and Chaney Jr from 1962, in an episode of of the TV series, "Route 66." The episode was called 'Lizard's Leg and Owlet's Wing.'

Chaney Jr also played The Mummy and the Hunchback, in the same episode.

And, Peter Lorre somehow required no makeup, Jeff!?  Marty Feldman could work that angle as well!   Okie

They should have given Lorre a bald cap and he could have re-created his character from MAD LOVE  :D

Setting up a shot for the 1943, Technicolor version of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, with Claude Rains, on the original 1925 opera house set on Stage 28 at Universal.

Now just a memory, since being demolished in 2014 by the dimwits at UNI, in favor of another tour ride or attraction.  :'(

2014!?  That is crazy, Jeff! Hard to believe one would tear down the legitimate attraction...   Okie

Great shot of Joan!  I guess that is the boom man, too?  Cool picture, Redman.  Careful, though, outing auctions before they close has caused quite some debate and furor in the past.  Safe hunting, my friend.  Okie

Not sure where you're seeing a boom. That item next to him is a C(entury)-stand, used to hold a flag, cutter, or diffusion of some kind, very often near or with a light source.

Abbott and Costello met many of the Universal monsters in the series of films they made, but they never met The Creature.

This was as close as they got, when the creature appeared on their live, TV show, as a brief cameo, shortly after CFTBL was released in 1954.

Hi Jeff, Do you know if Ben Chapman was in the Creature costume in this appearance?  Okie
