Wilding posters
« on: May 12, 2012, 12:35:28 AM »
Snapped some pictures of the Wildings at that I was talking about:

Notice the textures.  Also found out that the store doesn't necessarily put these up nor have bundles of posters.  In fact one other place I found told me that somebody comes and stocks the racks nd puts the posters up. Also had a thought the other day that those Harry Potter Character posters the Bruce auctioned off may have been something like these...

Why do you Americans get the Month and Day the wrong way round...?

Same reason as why you Brits insist on using a comma as a decimal point.

 ( I don't understand this remark...????  )

We don't use a comma, we use a decimal Point....?  We only use a comma if we are talking over the hundreds....E.G.   £1,000.43   Comma's and Decimal points...the British way.

I think I've seen Euro's done with commas instead of full stop (decimal point), like  €10,00

Sigh.

This would all be so much easier if the rest of you lot would simply accept our over-bearing hegemony, spelling, and freedom fries, and begin speaking proper American at all times.  After inventing the interwebs, sound film, and deep fried butter, it's the least you could do.

That said, I can't believe how out of touch with films I've become.  Never heard of "Battleship," but it sure looks pretty cool.

Asylum did a version of it, and got into trouble and had to change the name.

In England we only tend to say the day, so if asked what todays date is we would just say the 12th assuming people know the month...

But if your looking back at date's it would be 12.5.12 all in order starting with the smallest...why go middle, down and up...?

The iso date you use is much better than the mixed up version...

We do it backwards. The comma for decimals and the point for the thousands. E.G.   $1.000,43  :)

Some time ago, wilding posters for films started popping up. These usually are used in bigger cities, but the sight is welcome.

One of the Dark Knight billboards in LA.

PS: Oh, and I just realized looking at this picture I took a couple weeks ago, in the background is the Jim Henson studio, originally built by Charlie Chaplin.

Seems everyone has "a guy".  Mine is a wilding guy.  I see a poster on a construction site that I like and he delivers.

Wildings should have their own thread, since they are sometimes unique posters and quite rare (once they're gone, they're gone).  All the posters are single sided and 48x70in (bus shelter size).

Here are a few.  Next week, I'll add Batman Vs Superman, which is made of 3 posters.

The Walk (6 posters)

Star Trek Into Darkness (4 posters)

Spotlight Awards

The Revenant (5 posters)

Pacific Rim (4 posters)

Minions (10 posters)

The Martian

Mad Max: Fury Road (4 posters)

The Hunstman: Winter's War (2 posters)

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2 posters)

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2 posters)

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2 posters)

The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies (7 posters)

Deadpool (3 posters)

The Avengers: Age of Ultron (8 posters)

American Ultra (2 posters)

Sweet thread....Heres a set of 7 I picked up just last night.

Theres one more not shown on the wall and also the last two pictures show the recalled version and what replaced it.

The bus shelter below is recalled (Rising sun for some reason) and awesome art. IMHO its defnitely the best keyart for the movie. they did another version (shown) but its not as bad ass
