I'll try to answer a few of the questions that have been brought up:
Shipping Cost: For shipping we are using an USPS API and an API for FedEx. The problem with the USPostal Service one is that they do not allow the API to give quotes for First Class International shipping, so if you are overseas and trying to figure a quote it might look quite high right now.
Believe me, we will ship First Class International and we don't look at shipping as a profit center.
Shipping Time: Yes, we have put in the terms to allow ample time for us to ship an item to you, but those are used as what it could possibly take (especially if the seller is from out of the country). In practice, average shipping time will be much faster and we will turn around packages within 24-48 hours of receipt.
Does a seller pay for shipping? Yes. Just like if you were sending a poster to Bruce, or Heritage, Dave, or anyone else you are expected to pay to get that poster to us, so please remember that when figuring out at what price you would like to list your poster. Also remember that unlike Bruce or Heritage, you can keep your poster in your possession until you have a confirmed buyer for it. If you are using our auction service instead of fixed price then we would request you send your item(s) in ahead of time as it will not only help with any combined shipping from buyers who are purchasing multiple items but also the assumption with an auction is that you are certainly going to have a sale within a short period of time so to expedite everything you go ahead and ship the poster.
Does this mean that someone in Germany might order a poster from a seller in the Netherlands? Yes of course (and I'm sure Bruce and Heritage have buyers from all over the world who have bought items from consignors in different countries). But the buyer is able to choose the lowest cost shipping option they would like to save on postage and yes we are happy to wait a week or so in case there are other items the buyer might be interested in purchasing so they can be shipped together for one low cost.
When auctions go live we will have an "upcoming auctions" section where buyers can see a preview of what is coming up, and if you are a seller you can pick the auction week that you would like your item(s) to go live. No more waiting for an auction house to finally get around to your submission, we put you in control of when you auction your items.
