Thank you. I was thinking about purchasing Phantom of the Opera as well but I think The Mummy will just have to do for now.

Those are the best two IMO.

Go for the most colorful.

I'd say The Day The Earth Stood Still is somewhat crudely drawn in comparison to the original.

No point in buying The Sting, since the original sells for $75 or so.

That style OS for Phantom (one of my favorite movies) is fantastic, too. I wish they had done the "underwater" style, as well. That would have been a killer version to re-create, as well.

 cheers

Picked up the Frankenstein and Dracula.  Those weren't great posters to begin with but this is probably the only chance I'll have to get them at this price and they've resold for cuckoo prices at EMP....

Pics of Frankie and Dracula.  The JackGallery claims it is "liquidating" these posters by May 31, so you might want to order them now:

Interesting - they utilized different 'noted chromists' on each poster...I wonder how many different chromists were used.

Anyone have a good definition of chromist?

A more interesting question is, how many chromists are NOT "noted"?

A chromist is the person who copies the original artwork but breaks it down into it's individual colours and tones and makes the screens or plates for each colour.

It literally derives from the late 19th century phenomenon of Chromolithography..a slightly more delicate procedure that implements more medium variations of color on (sometimes) dozens of individual plates...in the late 1800's the technology became reasonably commonplace ...Chromolithography literally "blew it's load" in Orchidaceous plant studies and Ornithological naturalist works... I have handled (and unfortunately "broken") thousands of original engravings from this time period.. and you will NEVER be able to fully appreciate these until you see them and hold them in different angles with light...an easy search will provide some reasonably detailed results...hope this helps!!

Whoever is running the Jack Gallery now put a fire sale on the Phantom of the Opera for $30:

http://www.jackgallery.com/phantom-of-the-opera-2

Great deal, it's a superb poster and they were selling for hundreds of dollars recently:

Just so there is no confusion, the 30 dollar Phantom mentioned above is not one of the high end S2s (as was sold on emovie) but rather one of their lower tier posters (and listed in their Poster Section, rather than their Movie Lithograph section). Other $30.00 titles available include Frankenstein (OS & teaser), Dracula's Daughter, Dracula, The Mummy, Invisible Man and others. (http://www.jackgallery.com/explore/poster?p=1)

The hi end, S2 litho Phantom is currently on sale at 50% off, for $287.00 (http://www.jackgallery.com/phantom-of-the-opera)

The selection of other top tier, S2 titles (some also offered at 50% off), can be seen here:

It says "Limited Edition Hand Pulled Lithograph by the Re Society 27" x 41" for $30.

It's listed on the Home Page.

It may be a mistake but that's what it says.

Somebody is offering a mismatched three sheet S2 recreation for $350:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261290940665

JackGallery is also offering it and it looks mismatched as well:

http://www.jackgallery.com/index.php/quickview/index/view/path/schulz-neudamm-metropolis

Many three sheets are mismatched but surely they did not deliberately print these mismatched?
