What were you saying Mel?  I couldn't hear you over the sound of all that quad awesomeness below  ;D

Or maybe you are one of the few people out there who like the 'cardigan' Bullitt 1-sheet better than the quad.

That's funny...in Harry's case, I prefer the quads.
In Zorba's case, I prefer the one sheets.
Hmmmm.
Different strokes for different folks...  wynk

Looks like Mel's bailed to re-group, and find the worst Quads he can to post... ;)

I still prefer Zorba's Quads to his 1 shites.

Sorry, I'm in the middle of coding up some dataset calculations.... but I think I figured out the pattern:

if (Quad.art=OneSheet.art) {
   OneSheet > Quad;
} else if (Quad.art!=OneSheet.art) {
   Quad >= OneSheet;
}

Meaning, if they just reused the US campaign artwork, the quad will probably be substandard (i.e. Outlaw Josey Wales, Raiders, Blazing Saddles, etc...).  However, if both posters got unique artwork, then typically the quad crushes the 1-sheet (Horror of Dracula, Bullitt, Deliverance, etc...) or at worst case is a worthy competitor where both can be appreciated (Nightmare on Elm Street, Reservoir Dogs, Halloween, Dawn of the Dead, etc...).  That said, if they have unique artwork, it is pretty damn rare when a 1-sheet will truly crush the quad.

What do you think of my theory?

I prefer The Warriors one sheet over the quad.  What about Creepshow...

The war between the quads and one sheets will never be resolved because there's too much fraternizing with the enemy!

My own quads have style and panache aplenty:

I sense Mel wanting to bow out from this fight gracefully...

Unfortunately Mel, the only way to leave a cage fight is to tap out and admit defeat or to be knocked the fuck out  ;D

Keep 'em coming Paul!  Its too bad we don't have the 1-sheets for comparison.

The insuperable advantage of one sheets is that they "fit" the vertical human figure, so the format can't be beat when showing one or two persons standing or a head shot of one person, which most modern posters feature:

You are some kiddie with the computer Mel, unfortunately the posters are...er...mm.

I found a couple of group pic's on my computer. Closest I can get to Mel's computer wizardry.

Of course all your quads are great - but most of them are 30+ years old and were never produced as one sheets. But this one was and the winner is clear:

Thanks CJ.

I will concede that one Mel, though I think the conclusion is :- I you want people stood around go 1sht, if you want action, and scope go Quad. ;)

I really love quads, especially your ANDY WARHOL'S DRACULA (aka BLOOD FOR DRACULA).
While I dig that design, I still prefer the one sheet...

I don't collect much post 80's stuff Mel, most of it does not appeal to me in 1sht, or Quad format.

This pic is over-exposed.  Much better lookin' in person.
