Ran across this exceptional site - hundreds of very high quality scans/stills of the vintage era movie stars.  This is what a modern website should look like - NO tiny pictures!

Those are just obnoxiously huge images.  I like large pics to see detail, but I don't want them so big that I see the actor's pores.

What good is it having a picture so large it doesn't even fit on my 22 inch monitor?

Those images are very good, but for presentation purposes on a website are impractical and I echo the words of Angelo & Chris.
Best wishes,

See that is the problem... some people appear to want photos that can be taken directly from the internet, perfectly sized to put on their website requiring next to no effort resizing - it should take less than a minute to resize an image!!!... Hi def images are the master to give you ultimate flexibility - scaling small images up will only add blur. Want free image editing software, try GIMP

1.) The photos on that site are to be used in accordance with their Agreement. If you do use them against the agreement, there will be even less of these rare sites for us to enjoy. Anyone read Bruce's spiel about image theft in his latest club message. Unfortunately large high def photographs of posters I am taking for my new, not yet live, site will have watermarks covering them, else people will easily stick my photos on their quickly built sites making their site look good via my huge amount of effort, typically with zero acknowledgement. It is a shame, but thats now what it has to be.
2.) The high def images appear to be provided so you can download and print them off to enjoy, not to just look at an ear filling your screen.  There are also options in your browser to allow viewing a huge image to scale to fit your full screen size.

These large images are great, the people look more real, even if the occasional one shows some skin pores(!) OMG, pores...  Now, boogies hanging out of noses might be more disconcerting...

P.S. I can confirm Mr Wonka, in the Grace Kelly photo, a couple of pics above, she does not have hairy arms!

You make some very valid points, Steve.  sm1

I read Bruce's message and I am in complete agreement with him, and always have been, but not just with Bruce - with others in the same position.
I find anyone who removes the watermarks on images for their own use is not only harming themselves but also the hobby, and it makes people like Bruce that much more vigilant.

Unfortunately, there will always be those who 'pinch' images from other websites, using them for their own personal gain on their own website with no attribution, which I think is wrong. But that's just my opinion.
Best wishes,
Adam

So I sent "Dr. Macro" an email and invited him to check us out and maybe tell us a bit about himself.

In the meantime, here's another fab foto:
